How cute was the Fly dog in the first photo 🥹
This one came up in my memories, as it’s around the time of year i adopted her. Who knew the shut down quiet girl who wouldn’t leave her kennel without being carried would turn into an anxious growly bitey mess as soon as I got her home!
She was a huge challenge, she was so anxious but dealt with it by biting things to make them go away. I had to learn a lot very quickly, I still remember challenges like her planting herself on a walk and refusing to walk, and biting me because someone stopped to ask directions.
I worked hard with her, with a lot of support, and while she’s always been quirky she has turned into the best, easiest dog possible. She walks off lead everywhere, can cope in groups of people or dogs as long as no one jumps on her and even does stooge dog work for me now and really enjoys it.
Fly dog is about 16 now and in liver failure but she’s still full of life, just a little greyer and deafer, and she loves her long walks. Hoping I’ve still got a long while left with this girl (although I’m a little worried she’s trying to outlive all the other dogs out of spite so she can have me to herself 😆)
