It's been a little quiet over here on social media lately... but behind the scenes, it's been anything but quiet!
When I'm not out walking and caring for your dogs, I'm usually spending time learning, developing my knowledge and keeping my CPD (Continuing Professional Development) up to date. I truly believe that learning never stops, especially when it comes to giving dogs the very best care possible.
Recently, I've been expanding my knowledge in areas including:
🐾 Enrichment at home and on walks
🐾 Canine Cognitive Dysfunction
🐾 Owner motivation and support
🐾 Adolescent dogs
🐾 Abnormal repetitive behaviours
🐾 Recognising behavioural red flags that may indicate an underlying health concern
🐾 Scentwork and incorporating it into walks
🐾 The canine microbiome and its influence on behaviour
Why does this matter?
Because every dog is an individual. The more I learn, the better I can tailor my services to meet each dog's unique needs.
That means walks that are more than just exercise, they're enriching, engaging and designed with the individual dog in mind. It also means I can offer enrichment home visits for dogs who may not be able to get out due to hot weather, illness, injury, recovery, or because the outside world simply feels too overwhelming for them at the moment.
It also helps me to notice and communicate any changes in behaviour that owners may wish to discuss with their vet. Working alongside veterinary professionals when appropriate ensures dogs receive the most suitable support, while helping owners better understand their dog's needs and behaviour.
For me, CPD isn't about collecting certificates, it's about continually improving so I can provide the highest standard of care for every dog entrusted to me.
So while I may not always be the most active on social media, please know I'm always working hard behind the scenes to learn, grow and bring that knowledge back to the dogs and families I have the privilege of supporting.
If you've ever wondered whether your dog would benefit from more tailored walks, enrichment visits or additional behavioural support alongside their routine care, I'd be happy to have a chat.
