Something a little different has arrived in our Aquatics Department!

The Hygger Horizon Aquarium Kit comes with a built-in rocky background, filter and LED lighting with 3 different lighting modes and a built-in timer.

At approximately 30 litres in total capacity, it's a lovely little aquarium for a planted shrimp setup! 🦐🌿

👻🐟 A fish that embodies spooky season? Look no further than the Glass Catfish!

These fascinating little fish look like something straight out of a ghost story!

With their almost completely transparent bodies, you can actually see their spine and internal structures through their skin. Talk about being able to see right through someone! 👀

Despite their ghostly appearance, Glass Catfish are peaceful, social fish that prefer living in groups of their own kind.

Unlike many other catfish, these guys spend much of their time swimming in the middle of the water rather than hanging around the bottom!

A little spooky, a little strange, but absolutely fascinating! 👻💙

💧🐠 When was the last time you tested your aquarium water?

Just because your water looks crystal clear doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy for your fish!

Regular water testing is an essential part of fishkeeping, helping you spot potential problems before they affect your aquatic friends.

We've got two brilliant options available in store!

🧪 API 5 in 1 Test Strips
A quick and convenient way to check five important water parameters, including pH, nitrite, nitrate, carbonate hardness and general hardness.

💧 API Freshwater Master Test Kit
A more comprehensive liquid testing kit that measures ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH, including high range pH. Perfect for keeping a closer eye on your freshwater aquarium!

Don't fancy testing your water yourself?

Bring a sample into Smith's Aquatics and our team can test it for you!

🐟 FREE water testing on weekdays!
🐟 £5 on weekends, unless purchased alongside products.

Healthy water means happier fish! 💙

📸🐠 Trying to Take Product Photos... But Someone Wants the Spotlight!

We were simply trying to get some lovely photos of our artificial plants and aquarium ornaments, but apparently our Tiger Parrots had other plans! 😂🐟

They do love a camera moment, and who are we to deny them their five minutes of fame?

🌿 But here's something you might not know!

Everything you see decorating our display tanks is stock you can purchase from us in store!

Sometimes we might have sold out of a particular plant or ornament, but if something catches your eye, it's always worth asking! We may be able to order more in for you.

💚 Our aquatics team is always happy to help, whether you're looking to recreate one of our displays or just fancy adding something new to your aquarium.
