Warm, comforting and a little extra goodness in their bowl 🐾

🦔💔 A Sad Chapter for Our Hedgehogs...

One of Britain's most beloved garden visitors is in trouble.

The European hedgehog is now officially listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List with populations declining across much of its range.

Habitat loss, busy roads, pesticides and the disappearance of natural food sources are all contributing to the struggles these little creatures face.

It's heartbreaking to think that an animal once so commonly spotted wandering through our gardens is becoming an increasingly rare sight.

But there's still hope! 💚

We can all do our bit to help our prickly friends by creating hedgehog highways, leaving areas of our gardens wild, providing fresh water and avoiding harmful chemicals.

At Smith's Pets, we love our British wildlife, and we believe protecting it starts right on our doorsteps.

NEW ANIMALS! 🐾

Yesterday we welcomed some lovely new faces into our animal room, and don’t we have some stunners! 😍

🐰 Female Netherland Dwarf and Mini Lop rabbits
🐹 Female short haired guinea pigs
🐹 Male long haired guinea pigs
🐀 Female blue and dumbo rats
🐾 Female pied, black and cream degus
🐭 Female fancy mice

They will be ready to leave for their forever homes from Tuesday 20th October, once they have settled in and we are happy they are ready. ❤️

We’re taking deposits now! Speak to our animal room team about reserving your new companions.

Thinking about welcoming some new friends? Here’s what we need from you:

🏡 Proof of a suitable enclosure for your chosen species. Please bring clear photos or videos so our team can check the space and setup before confirming your reservation.

📚 A genuine interest in their care and a willingness to learn. Our staff will talk you through their needs and help you prepare.

If you haven’t bought an enclosure yet, speak to us first so we can help you choose something suitable.

Animal welfare always comes first. If your setup isn’t ready, we may ask you to make changes before taking your animals home. Not now doesn’t mean not ever! 💚
