🐾💙 Providing care where pets feel happiest - at home 💙🐾

Here at VetCare@Home, we’re often called upon to help care for patients in the comfort of their own homes when owners are unable to physically carry out certain aspects of their pet’s treatment. 🏡

Recently, our nursing team visited the lovely Tia, whose owner has a painful back condition which made it difficult to carry out her twice-weekly medicated baths. These baths are an important part of helping soothe Tia’s itchy skin and keeping her comfortable. ❤️

On a very warm day, our nurses were more than happy to give Tia a lovely cool soak in the sink. 🛁☀️

Tia was a little unsure at first (which is completely understandable!), but she soon relaxed and enjoyed a gentle pamper session. 🥰🐶

We love being able to support both pets and their owners, helping make ongoing treatments easier and less stressful for everyone involved.

Because sometimes the best care happens exactly where your pet feels safest - at home. 💚

A very handsome visitor!

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming the gorgeous Ikkuma and his lovely owners to our crematorium to collect his prescription. 💙

Ikkuma was an absolute superstar and happily posed for a photo! 📸✨

Of course, all that modelling deserved a reward, so he enjoyed a nice crunchy carrot before heading home. 🥕😋

It was a lovely way to start the day, and we always enjoy seeing our wonderful patients, especially when they're as charming as Ikkuma! 🥰🐾

🔥🌿 Remembering the impact of the wildfires around Glossop 🌿🔥

A few weeks ago, we saw devastating wildfires affecting the Glossop area, with fires burning across the countryside. The impact on the local environment and wildlife was truly heartbreaking. 💔🐾

Although the fires are no longer at the forefront of the news, the effects on the landscape and the animals that depend on these habitats will continue to be felt for some time.

When wildfires are active, continue to follow any advice from local services and to remain mindful when enjoying our beautiful countryside. 🌿

For our pet owners, please remember that smoke and poor air quality can affect animals too. If there are ever future incidents involving smoke in your area, consider keeping pets indoors where possible and look out for any signs of breathing difficulties or distress. 🐶🐱

🚨 URGENT RECALL: Years Fresh Dog Food 🚨

We are aware that Years Fresh Dog Food is currently subject to an urgent recall following reports of a small number of dogs developing severe dry eye, which is believed to be linked to this diet.

If your dog is fed Years, please stop feeding this food immediately and do not give it to any other animal.

👉 Symptoms to look out for 👀

Please watch your dog for:

• Redness, cloudiness or dullness in the eyes
• Excessive blinking or squinting
• Pawing at the eyes
• Thick eye discharge
• General discomfort around the eyes

⚠️ If you notice any of these symptoms, please contact your vet promptly and mention the Years food recall.

Even if your dog is showing no symptoms, please get in touch if you would like your dog to have a tear production test. This can help assess tear production and check for signs of dry eye.
