Hydrotherapy Launch!!

We have been busy working in the background here at JF-Vet Physio and we are extremely excited to share the launch of our very own hydrotherapy water treadmill right here at our existing independent Veterinary Rehabilitation Centre in Bannockburn, Stirling, FK7 8HZ.

With a growing demand for our hydrotherapy services, we felt it was important to offer increased availability and support for our patients. We have custom designed the layout of our facilities with your pet's experience at the forefront of our minds. This state-of-the-art water walker has been installed in such a way to allow patients to walk in & out at ground level, offering a safe and more accessible facility. Our aim is to help ensure many more dogs and cats can experience the benefits of hydrotherapy without restriction.

We also appreciate that many of our patients thrive in the quiet environment we instil in the Centre, therefore, we have continued this ethos throughout our hydrotherapy area. Our one-way system will ensure each pet will have sole use of the facilities for their session to help promote a calm and focused environment. With the use of an array of harnesses and floatation aids specifically designed for active pets, we will ensure a safe and secure experience for our patients during hydrotherapy.

At JF-Vet Physio, we pride ourselves on the proficient, professional services we offer. This is why we ensure all our physiotherapists carrying out hydrotherapy are specifically trained in advanced water treadmill techniques to ensure patients receive optimal hydrotherapy treatment for their needs. We also maintain membership with the Institute of Canine Hydrotherapists (ICH) and regulation by the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP).

From August 24th, Kirsty be offering veterinary pain management, acupuncture and herbal medicine consultations based out of our centre at JF - Vet Physio in Bannockburn.

This service is widely utilised already by many of our patients to compliment their physiotherapy care, so to now have this service under one roof is fabulous. 🐾 About Me 🐾

I'm Kirsty Russell; a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon based in central Scotland with a passion for holistic care and chronic pain management.

My journey into integrative veterinary medicine began during my time at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School, where I owned Ben, my childhood dog who suffered from osteoarthritis. Through Ben, I experienced firsthand the transformative effects of complementary therapies such as physiotherapy and acupuncture. I always remember the “super dog” days that followed his treatments. Those moments shaped my commitment to providing the same level of comfort and improved quality of life for my future patients.

I graduated in 2018 and began my career as a small animal vet in Doune, where I continue to work in general practice. In 2022, I pursued advanced training in Chronic Pain Management and Western Veterinary Acupuncture, earning my CertWVA&CPM in 2024. My interest in integrative medicine continued to grow, and in late 2025 I was introduced to the world of herbal medicine, quickly becoming inspired by the meaningful improvements I saw in patients receiving personalised herbal blends.

For the past three years, I have been running dedicated Chronic Pain Management clinics within Struthers and Scott, supporting pets with long‑term pain conditions through multimodal, compassionate care. I am now excited to expand my services further and welcome new patients, from all practices, at the JF Vet Physio premises in Bannockburn.

JF - Vet Physio are hosting a Level 3 Canine First Aid course in Stirling!

FRIDAY 8th MAY
10am - 4.30pm
Stirling - Venue TBC once numbers known.

Included will be all you would expect from a First Aid course as well as relevant content for a hydrotherapy or swimming scenario.

This course is open to canine professionals as well as any enthusiastic dog owners keen to learn more about Canine First Aid.

This course meets the IRVAP membership requirements.
Certificates awarded upon completion.

Cost is £132 / person.
Spaces are limited and so we recommend early booking to secure your space.
