We still have spaces available for our clinic at Totleywells Equestrian this Sunday. We have 2 spaces in the 1.30-3pm group, so if you have a horse who loads to leave the yard but not to go home, we can help loading at the other end.

Horsey peeps we need advice. How can we entertain our horses on box rest?

After a laminitis scare last night we have now been fat shamed by the vets into taking action. The girls are on box rest for a week. We caught Poppys laminitis just in time, and Ice is too much of an idiot to go out by herself. So they are both in 🤷🏼‍♀️

What can we do to entertain them for the next week? They only ever come in when something is wrong, so ideally we need to make the stables “fun” places to be. Oh, and minimal sugar too!

Look at them, like butter wouldn’t melt 😂

Fly mask time 🪰

Poppy has grown up a lot in the last few months since the youngsters left and she's stuck with old lady Ice. But she is sooo calm now it's so much easier to work with her.

Last year it took two people to get a fly mask on her, and it really was a test of grit to be quick enough to get it over her ears. This year, we've a whole new approach. She is so much happier with R+ training, so we've applied that to her head collar and fly mask practice.

This is day 2 of wearing a fly mask this year. Day 1, we put it on together. One person on treat duty, the other on the mask. This morning I was on my own, so had to make it work myself.

I honestly feel like words aren't even needed. Yes this is sped up x4. But she was so good, didn't even consider leaving me and was very invested in the training.
