Remembering Dad, Howard Ryder
This morning (17th Oct), I have left a collection of items on the picnic table by the main lake, opposite the main car park at Fairlands Valley, in memory of my dad, Howard Ryder, in memory of his passing and to mark his birthday.
If youāre passing by and feel moved to take something, please do. It brings me comfort to know that others are thinking of him too, and that his kindness, warmth, and spirit continue to live on through the memories he left behind.
Dad was a truly good, kind, generous, and jolly soul ā always ready with a smile, a joke, and a warm cup of tea. While I can no longer take him out for a Sunday lunch of apple pie with endless custard or spend an afternoon wandering around a country show together, I wanted to honour his memory in a way that feels close to him.
Iāve left a selection of handmade gifts, including knitted hats, keychains, resin coasters, bookmarks, and some of his favourite snacks, along with items inspired by his interests.
You may notice a few bee-themed items among the gifts. Dad always called me his āHoneybeeā š ā a nickname that still makes me smile and reminds me of the special bond we shared.
We miss you every day, Dad, and especially at this time of year. Thank you for all the love, laughter, and memories.
Forever loved, forever missed š©µ
Thank you for bee-longing to me š
