I can't believe this gorgeous, gentle soul hasn't found his perfect match yet. 12 weeks old, vaccinated, travels well, loves going out for coffee or to the beach or cuddling on the sofa. Very keen to learn and adores cuddles. Mum and Dad have excellent health and DNA tests. A very special person looking for a very special Mummy or Daddy (Labrador) Gosh there have been so many replies it's difficult to keep up with them. He needs to go to a home where he will be cherished. He would "work" as a gundog and is calm and kind enough to be an assistance dog or a family pet in an active home. I was a professional dog trainer for 20 years and have spent 15 years or so assessing puppy temeraments for various forms of work. This whole litter has been exceptional and the dog pup is only available late on because of a time waster who didn't show up to view. Introducing Scarlet 😍 I've been hunting down some lovely old show-bred bloodlines with sound, sweet temperaments who actually like retrieving. Scarlet was bred by a friend of mine and her great grandmother was litter sister to my old stud dog Cooper. She is an adorable little person and did her first retrieve yesterday at the grand age of 9 weeks. Here she is on her first outing on her own to the local dog friendly coffee shop.

There are a few groups of Golden Retriever Breeders on Facebook advertising each others puppies. Unfortunately, some of the information they put out is misleading. It is now illegal to breed and sell puppies without a Licence. This is because the https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/animal-activities-licensing-guidance-for-local-authorities includes HMRC Badges of Trade which say that if a Breeder sells one puppy for £1,000 or more, they need a Licence. The onus is on the Breeder to prove they have given the puppies away. So, I put together a check sheet for potential puppy owners so that they can check up on Breeders easily.

Things to ask a Breeder

1) Show me a photo of your licence
2) Give me the registered names of both parents
3) Show me the health test results of the parents
4) Cross check these on Kennel Club Health Checker
5) Ask for videos
6) Speak to the breeder about what you want and how they assess their pups as suitable for you
7) Go and view
8) Wait until at least 5 – 6 weeks before selecting a puppy. Their personalities won’t be evident before then.

This very special boy comes from very well-bred field trials lines with excellent health tests. He is very bright and trainable but also loves cuddles. He is looking for a special someone whom he can enjoy being with most of the time. He doesn't need to "work" as such just to be a loved member of the family with plenty of opportunities for exercise.
