I was doing a little research with regards to furthering my training qualifications and in doing so came across some quite awful prices of equipment, all marketed as being 'kind and humane'. One item in particular has left me unsure as to whether I want to scream or cry... So I made this little e-flyer instead. I think it says it all. If using any price of equipment, does it breach your dog's rights to the 5 freedoms?

Who would be interested in helping me construct a new video based training programme to set up super strong foundations for responsible ownership. My goal is that we work towards a badge to wear on your dog bag / lead / coat to show that you have worked and proven your responsibility in the skills that are relevent to your life, to your dog and your family. If you want to join in it will be totally free to:
1. Enrol and get your actions and progress plan
2. Submit videos of your work on these actions via WhatsApp. This will very much about evaluating how clearly your dog is following your communication, how we can improve that and how we can tailor our games to suit your own dog.
3. A follow up plan to help you strengthen your communication.
This will be totally 'holistic', 'force free' suitable for all dogs and for this section will be with the theme of 'responsible dog owner grade 1'. If this gets good interest I will organise an independent assessment scheme for you to earn a sew-on embroidered badge (designed by me) and certificate of achievement.
It'll be fun, friendly and hopefully set good examples in communities where having dogs run off lead is a privilege we fear losing for so many irresponsible owners. It won't be difficult for you to improve your skills. Improvement is our greatest goal,even with difficult and damaged rescue dogs.
I love dogs, I want to make living with dogs better.. are you in?

Let's talk dog bags. On every walk, while out enjoying our beautiful Essex countryside, I find little baggies left dotted around by people who just can't be bothered to carry their own responsibility. A bag like this is super easy to make, or an old handbag will do.. or a nice dummy bag, but there's no need to leave it at every gate, tree or sign post!
