Few facts, since Mick burst into the comments with the confidence of a man who’s never been correct a single day in his life:

• Mick thinks cats should be gassed
• Mick isn’t from the UK but won’t shut the f**k up about how things should be done here
• Mick confuses ‘having an opinion’ with ‘knowing literally anything’
• Mick saw a humane cat release and invented a crime scene in his head
• Mick is now blocked

A gentler gear this week on our dog walks 🐾

Wee man Geordie has had a bit of a rough time health-wise, so we slowed the pace and listened to what he needed. On his brighter days, he was right there soaking up the joy of being out with the gang. On the tougher ones, we parked ourselves together, had a sit, a cuddle, and let the world drift past while Chris took charge of entertaining the rest of the crew.

Same love, same care, just a quieter rhythm this week 💛

Nail clips last week for former Consett Cat Rescue kitties Cashew, Ike & Oakly ✂️🐾

Only little miss Cashew agreed to model for the after pics like the professional she is 📸✨

Ike and Oakly, however, chose the under-bed marathon option and treated us and mam to an unexpected cardio workout before finally surrendering for their mani-pedis 😅💨

No dramatic protests, no colourful language… just two very good girls pretending they’ve never sworn in their lives 😇✨

Release day 🐾

A client of ours had a regular visitor she was feeding, and it quickly became clear he was spraying around her garden. Classic sign of an unneutered tom. The area is very rural and every effort was made to find an owner, but he wasn’t trusting and all signs pointed to him being feral-born.

We agreed TNR was the best option. He was trapped on Monday and brought here, where it became absolutely clear he wasn’t lost, just a wild lad doing what wild lads do. On Tuesday he was neutered, microchipped and ear-tipped thanks to Consett Cat Rescue, and on Wednesday he was released back where he belongs.

Not long after this video, he strolled back for food like absolutely nothing had happened. Zero grudges. Full confidence.

Here’s to one less cat spreading his seed and hopefully a calmer, more relaxed life for him going forward. Massive shout-out to our client for actually wanting to help instead of doing nothing.

And a gentle reminder: feeding isn’t enough. If you have unneutered visitors, neutering is the single best help you can give them.
