Equine Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Awards…..learning new skills!

How do you remember all of the poisonous plants? Learn how to paint them of course!!

Top tips to remember!!

• Inspect pastures regularly for weeds and check bordering hedgerows for invasive shrubs.

• Remove trimmings safely: Never dump garden waste, hedge clippings (like yew or box), or pulled weeds into horse paddocks.

• Maintain good forage: Horses are less likely to browse bitter, toxic weeds if they have an abundant supply of clean, quality grass and hay

Contact a vet immediately if you suspect your horse has ingested any toxic plant, or visit the World Horse Welfare Advice Page or The British Horse Society Ragwort Toolkit for identification guides

We all learn differently….being around horses enables us to learn us so much!!
