🚨Years Fresh Dog Food Recall🚨

We would like to make any clients aware that use ‘Years Dog Food’ - Years Signature Meals have been RECALLED as a precaution following reports of dry eye (KCS) in dogs.

🔎 Their investigation has identified a potential link between buckwheat, an ingredient used in many of their meals, and reported cases of dry eye. Further laboratory testing is ongoing.

If you feed Years:
❌ Stop feeding the meals immediately, even if your dog appears well.
🍽️ Choose an alternative complete and balanced diet.
👀 Monitor your dog for signs of dry eye, including redness, squinting, eye discharge or sore-looking eyes.

If your dog has been affected by dry eye while eating Years, please report this to Years and speak to your veterinary practice.

At Welland Valley Vets, we’re here to help if you’re concerned about your pet’s health or need advice on choosing an alternative diet. ❤️🐾

Years exists for one reason: to give people more time with their dogs, and the reports we have received are deeply upsetting to everyone here. As a result of the reports, we took the step to voluntarily recall our fresh meals because, while the evidence is still developing, we are not prepared to take chances with the dogs people trust us to feed.

Our investigation is currently focused on potential contamination within a portion of buckwheat supply, rather than buckwheat itself, although a definitive cause has not yet been established.

Independent laboratory testing is underway, alongside our wider investigation, to understand exactly what has happened. We want to give customers clear, evidence-based answers rather than speculate while that work continues, and we will communicate the findings as soon as the investigation is complete.

It was so lovely to meet Kellie, a local dog groomer and the owner of Hounds on the Hill in Easton on the Hill, today. ❤️

Kellie is incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about what she does, and it was lovely to hear about the care she puts into making sure every dog has a positive experience.

She offers a meet & greet for all new clients, which we think is such a lovely idea - giving you and your dog the chance to meet Kellie, have a chat and make sure everyone is happy and comfortable before their first grooming appointment.

We’re really pleased to be getting to know Kellie and to learn more about the lovely community of local groomers. It was great to hear about how supportive the grooming community is and how they work together to help one another and, most importantly, the dogs in their care.

We’re always keen to build relationships with other local businesses and pet professionals who share our values. We think that by working together and getting to know one another, we can all help make sure our clients have access to people they can trust to look after their pets. 🐶💚

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but those first few months can also be full of questions.

That's why we're delighted to be launching Puppy Preschool at Welland Valley Vets this September - a fun, supportive course designed to help both you and your puppy get off to the very best start.

Over three interactive sessions, our experienced veterinary nurses will help you build the foundations for a happy, confident future together.

A busy week at Welland Valley Vets, filled with adorable Doberman and Labrador puppies! 😍🐶

We love making every visit as positive and stress-free as possible, helping our young patients build confidence at the vets from the very start. 💙

The KONG Liver Paste was a huge hit, and these gorgeous pups were so busy enjoying their treat they didn’t even notice their microchips and vaccinations being given! 💉🙌🏻✨
