🎉 OAKHAM, WE’RE OPENING OUR DOORS!🎉

The wait is almost over… our brand-new Oakham salon officially opens on Monday 7th September! 🐾❤️

We’ve been working behind the scenes to get everything ready, and we honestly can’t wait to welcome you into our new space — whether you’re a familiar face or someone completely new to us!

And speaking of new faces… it’s finally time to officially introduce Kate! 👋🏼❤️

You may have already spotted her over on our Stories, but with everything happening around the Oakham opening, we realised it was definitely time to give her a proper welcome!

Welcome to the team, Kate — Katy’s Clip & Collect! ✨

Kate has recently moved to the area and brings an incredible 25 years of grooming experience with her, having worked as a mobile groomer, self-employed groomer and salon owner.

She officially joined us on 13th August and is now working with us full time. We’re so excited to have her as part of the team and can’t wait for you all to meet her!

📍You’ll find Kate in our Oakham salon on Thursdays & Fridays, and she has some availability for appointments in Stamford from as early as next week!✨

And here’s who you’ll find in Oakham throughout the week:

🤎 6 YEARS OF SOAP & FURRY 🤎

Today marks 6 years of Soap & Furry — and I honestly can’t quite believe it!

It all started back in 2020 in a little cabin at home, before we took the big leap and moved to Scotgate in 2021. Six years on, the team, the salon and the business have changed and developed so much, and looking back, it’s amazing to see just how far we’ve come.

It definitely hasn’t always been an easy journey, but it’s one I’m incredibly proud of. There have been plenty of challenges along the way, but so many more amazing moments, wonderful dogs, laughs, lessons learnt and people who have become such a big part of Soap & Furry. 🐾

A huge thank you to the girls and the whole team. I genuinely wouldn’t be where I am today without your hard work, support, loyalty and everything you bring to the business. I’m so lucky to have such a brilliant team around me. 🤎

And to my family and friends, thank you for always being there through the highs, the lows, the stresses, the big ideas and everything in between. Your support has meant more than you probably realise.

And now, six years after starting out in that little cabin, we’re getting ready for another pretty exciting chapter… Soap & Furry Oakham. 🥹🌿

It’s funny to think about where we started and where we are now. What began as a little idea in a cabin has grown into something I’m so incredibly proud of.

So here’s to 6 years of Soap & Furry — muddy paws, hairy floors, wet dogs, plenty of laughs and doing what we love every day.

It's been a busy few weeks behind the scenes, so we thought it was time to let you all know what's been happening!

🌿 We're expanding to Oakham!
We're really pleased to be taking over Rigby & Rover at Rutland Garden Village.
Jonny has decided it's time to hang up his scissors, and we'd like to thank him for trusting us with his salon and wish him all the best with his future plans.

We'll be getting the keys very soon and are looking forward to opening our Oakham doors on 7th September. To begin with, we'll be grooming there Monday to Wednesday and every other Friday.

✂️ Katie's next adventure
We wanted to let you know Katie will be leaving us on 11th August to open her own salon, Fluffy Cuts, in Mawsley.

We're sad to see her go, but we're also really pleased for her and wish her every success with her new venture.

✨ A fresh look
New branding! It's something we've been meaning to do for a while, and with the move into Oakham it felt like the right time. New look... same team.

📅 Appointments
With Katie leaving, we're temporarily down a groomer, so our current lead time is around 9 weeks. If you'd like to stay on your regular grooming schedule, we'd really recommend having at least your next two appointments booked in to avoid delays.

A huge thank you to everyone who's been happy to move appointments around recently. We know it's not always convenient, and we really appreciate your patience while we've worked through a fair bit of reshuffling. It's taken some sorting 🙈

Our newest team member Holly, is settling in really well and does have some appointments available sooner than our current lead time. She's still gaining experience, so if you'd be happy for Holly to groom your dog and would like an earlier appointment, just get in touch.

If Oakham is more convenient for you, or you'd like to swap your appointments between salons, just let us know and we'll do our best to make it work.

We’re delighted to introduce the newest member of the Soap and Furry team – Holly - Bark and Branch Ltd - 07955073615

Holly has worked around animals all her life, with experience in both veterinary practices and pet insurance. She's currently studying for her Level 3 City & Guilds Dog Grooming qualification and is excited to start her new career as a dog groomer. We’re thrilled to have her join our team and know she’ll be a fantastic addition.

Outside of work, Holly loves travelling and enjoys getting creative by making unique homewares inspired by our four-legged friends.

A little message from Holly:

"Hello everyone! My name is Holly, and I’m so excited to be joining the Soap and Furry team. I can’t wait to begin this new adventure, meet all of your lovely dogs, and get to know both you and your furry friends. I’m really looking forward to becoming part of the Soap and Furry family!"

Great Scot Grooming Show 2026 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A quick drive to Scotland after work on Fri, now headed home after a fab day in the grooming ring!

Firstly, what a great show! Lovely atmosphere, judges, entertainment, venue! For anyone on the fence about going, would highly recommend!

Kim started off the day in the morning with Copper in handstrip intermediate. She came 2nd, her first placing in a grooming competition! Thank you to all her friends in the showing world for giving great trips and advice, because she bettered herself this time around with her work on Copper!

It was Carly’s turn then in the afternoon with Vinnie in Open Poodle - we won! 🥳

Super proud to secure our 2nd win in open poodle class, our second golden scissor award, and this time it was with Vinnie, which makes it a win with each of the boys 🤎🖤

Thank you to our fantastic judges , really appreciate your feedback and will take it on board for next time!

Not too long left on our 600+ mile round journey, two very tired pups in the back along with two very happy (but tired) groomers. A well earned rest for them after being so good for us 🥰

A fantastic morning meeting lots of new faces and seeing some familiar ones! Great idea and thank you for generously hosting at the .windmill what a lovely venue.
