A little heart-to-heart from me… 🐾💜

This summer has honestly been one of the hardest periods I’ve experienced since starting Kiiko & Friends.

Five heatwaves in six weeks has made running a dog walking and pet care business incredibly difficult. So many last-minute changes, cancelled walks, rearranged visits and decisions that have had to be made purely around the health and safety of your pets. 🐾

And I genuinely mean this when I say…

I will NEVER EVER moan about the rain again! 😂🌧️

Give me muddy paws and soaking wet clothes any day!

For those who don’t know, Kiiko & Friends isn’t my part-time job — this is my full-time job. And my fellow small business owners will know that running your own business is a 24/7 job. It doesn’t switch off when you finish your last walk. There’s always something to organise, plan, reply to, clean, prepare or worry about!

This summer genuinely pushed me and, at times, made me wonder how much longer I could keep going. Sadly, I’ve seen some local small businesses like mine not make it through.

So I feel incredibly grateful to still be here. 🥹💜

And I’m especially grateful for YOU.

Thank you to every single client who has stuck with me, understood the cancellation policies, been so understanding with last-minute changes and trusted me to always put your pets first.

I genuinely LOVE what I do. I love every single one of your pets, and I feel so lucky that I get to spend my days caring for them. 🐶🐱🐾

Every single day, I will continue to do my absolute best to make sure their health, happiness and safety are always my number one priority.

Thank you for supporting me, trusting me and allowing me to do a job that I truly love. It means more than you probably realise. 💜

The circle of life… 🐔🥚🍅🫐🤎

One of the most beautiful things about running Kiiko & Friends is realising that while I spend my days caring for my clients’ animals, my clients look after me too🥹

From fresh eggs from the chickens I look after, to home-grown tomatoes, blackberries and other fruit and vegetables grown with so much love. I’m constantly reminded just how lucky I am to have such wonderful people around me🥚🍅🫐🌱

I go into their homes and care for the animals they love, and in return, they share a little piece of their homes and their lives with me.

It really feels like a little circle of life and kindness🤎

And honestly, it means so much more than just receiving some fresh produce. It’s knowing that my clients don’t just support my business but they also support me as a person!

They believe in what I’m building, recommend me, trust me with their beloved pets, check in on me, celebrate my little wins and show me kindness in so many different ways.

I’m forever grateful for every single person who has supported Kiiko & Friends and, more importantly, supported me along the way.

I started this business because I wanted to care for animals, but I never expected it to bring so many wonderful people into my life. 🐾🤎

I look after your animals, and somehow, you all end up looking after me too.

That’s the real circle of life. 🌱🐔🥚🍅🫐🤎

I’ve spent the last 24 hours trying to calm down enough to actually post this… because I’m still not sure I’ve fully processed it or believe it myself! 😭🥹

KIiko & Friends Pet Services is officially a FINALIST in The UK Small Business Awards 2026! 🏆🐾

I genuinely couldn’t be more proud. What started as an idea has grown into something I’m incredibly passionate about, and seeing my little business recognised like this honestly means the world to me. ❤️

I spent last evening celebrating with my family, and it was so special being able to share this moment with the people who have supported me throughout the journey. 🥂✨

But most importantly, THANK YOU to every single one of my amazing clients, their wonderful pets and every person who follows, likes, comments, shares and supports Kiiko & Friends. 🐶🐱🐰🐾

Kiiko & Friends simply wouldn’t be where it is today without you. You’ve trusted me with your pets, recommended my business, supported my content and watched this little business grow — and I’m beyond grateful. 🥹💜
