🐾 We’re Hiring – Veterinary Receptionist 🐾

Riverport Vets are looking for an enthusiastic receptionist to join our expanding small, supportive, friendly team.
This is a fast-paced and rewarding role, where you’ll be supporting clients through all aspects of pet ownership, always delivering the highest level of care, compassion, and professionalism.

The role includes:
• 28 hours per week. 8.30am to 2.30pm 4 days a week.
• A busy client focused position in a caring veterinary environment
• Good IT skills and strong organisational skills are a must.
· Previous veterinary experience preferred.

One of our lovely clients found this beautiful cat in their garden in Huntingdon and got in touch to see if we could find her owner through her microchip, which we did... She'd been missing since November from Cambourne!! One incredibly happy family reunited with their gorgeous and much-loved cat 🥰 a happy day.

Evie's lovely owner sent us this sweet picture of her to celebrate her 11th birthday. Happy birthday, Evie! Xx

"May I please convey my heartfelt, sincerest gratitude to Vet Chloe and the two lovely Receptionists on duty late yesterday afternoon.

At 4.30pm I was in the middle of a paddock, fixing the fencing, when one of my spaniels began crying, running in circles with his head on one side, and shaking his head frantically. Uh oh. Grass seed. I managed to catch him (he’s a very sensitive little soul, terrified of the world) and very gently lifted one ear flap. Sure enough, right in his ear was a big, fat grass seed. I gently pulled it out and thought to myself, phew that’s just saved me a week’s wages. But no. He continued to cry and run around in circles with his head on one side. Yikes! I rang Riverport Vets straight away. I’ll be honest, I was beginning to panic.

The lovely Receptionist was so kind and reassuring. She said those three magic words: come straight in. Within seconds, both dogs were loaded, equipment loaded and off we drove, in Friday rush hour traffic to St Ives. Upon checking in, I found the waiting room alive with bouncy young retrievers and knew this would trigger all sorts of issues for my little chap. But I didn’t need to worry. The Receptionist had checked our notes and knew my spaniel was very nervous. She guided me around to the back door and Vet Chloe was waiting for me. After a quick de-brief of events, my little chap was taken away for investigation. Upon his return, I was shown the remainder of the grass seed they had just extracted from his ear. They had checked his other ear and all four paws. All clear. Summer with Spaniels – it’s a day to day drama!

A huge THANK YOU to Vet Chloe and the two lovely Receptionists on duty. First Class service. Excellent treatment to both dog and owner. Second to none. I am so sorry it happened late on a Friday afternoon, just as you were all hoping to go home. Thank you! And the cherry on the cake? I didn’t have to pay a thing. It was my free Vet Consult under our Healthy Pet Plan. A-MAZ-ING! Thank you."
