It wasn't quite the fairy tale ending at Frickley Park Horse Trials but I'm so super proud of what we have achieved and we have all had a blast. I think Frickley is our new favourite event. The team at Frickley are so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere and championship feel is fantastic.
I was feeling the pressure going into the show jumping in the lead and being fairly certain, given our record that we were going to throw it away. However, I did my best to focus on what I could do to make it go as well as possible and I'm super proud of the round we produced. We did have two down which unfortunately put us down from 1st to 2nd but I'm pleased that given the pressure and the atmosphere it wasn't 4 down to put us way down the line. I think it's one of the best rounds we have jumped this year and if we keep going like that then we will be progressing in no time.
There was no time to celebrate with Gin up next in the arena event. She was absolutely fantastic to pull off a super clear and win the class. The cross country part was proper cross country fences and I'm delighted with how confident she felt.
What a super week, four classes and a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I couldn't be more chuffed (well possibly if Crombie hadn't have had the last show jump down and it was two 1st's, a 3rd and a 4th). I'm so proud of my ponies and so grateful to Mo Heaton and Sandy Smith and of course Wallace - adventures of a yard dog for coming on the adventure with me and supporting all the way.
We are trucking home now with Heather Bennett transport and the lorry of with Roys Auto's.
Thanks again to the team at Frickley for a fantastic week and I'm sure there will be pro photo spam coming soon, oh and the videos that I've not had chance to look at yet π.
