Our address is: Spaldington, Goole, East Yorkshire, DN14 7ND. Howden Equestrian Centre is a licenced, approved riding school awarded highly commended by the British Horse Society. Riding lessons are available for all levels of rider, from 3 years old upwards, first timers to advanced competitors, all are welcome! We are rated "highly commended" across the board by the BHS and, 5 stars by the ERYC.

All our staff are BHS qualified. Licence number: AA3243511. Meet the team:
- Janice Chadwick - BHS Stage 4 Senior Eventing Coach & Stage 4 yard manager. BHS Stage 3 complete horsemanship.

- Andrew Chadwick - BHS Stage 3 Coach, Dressage Ride & Level 3 Complete horsemanship.

We are thrilled to have received funding from ERYC to expand on our successful HAF pony days this summer!

Sessions are split between Junior / Senior school to ensure activities are targeted towards specific age groups. Pony days are open to children who currently ride with us and also those who have never ridden before. Children will be grouped appropriately on the day.

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to shine a massive, well-deserved spotlight on the absolute heart and soul of Howden Equestrian Centre and Howden Community Stables CICβ€”our incredible volunteers! πŸ™ŒπŸ΄

Running a centre with high welfare standards takes a village, and we are incredibly lucky to have the best village around. Whether you are leading in our sessions, helping out our pony days, keeping the yard immaculate, or giving our horses some extra love and grooming, your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Our volunteers range from young people gaining valuable industry experience to community members who generously give up their free time to help others discover the joys of equestrianism. Because of your hard work, patience, and kindness, we ensure all our horses get the very best one to one care, and we are also able to change lives through horses every single week!

We are thrilled our summer show championship is now being kindly sponsored by R & R Country!
Every placing earned throughout the day will go towards the championship at the end of the show. E.g. 1st place earns 6 points, 2nd place earns 5 points etc.
The rider with the most points at the end of the day will be awarded show champion and receive a special rosette & R and R Country voucher!

Do you have a weight-carrying cob standing at 15hh or above who is looking for a 5-star, loving home? We are looking for another superstar to join our valued equine team to join the Howden Equestrian Centre family on a long-term loan basis.

We know how hard it is to trust someone with your horse, but we do things differently here. We operate a strict "horses first" philosophy, meaning your horse will receive top quality, professional care and a routine that prioritises their happiness and health.

What we offer your horse:

🌟 The Highest Welfare Standards: We are BHS Highly Commended and hold a 5-Star East Riding Council rating.

🩺 Tailored Care Programmes: We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether your horse requires a specific feeding regime, individual turnout needs, specialised farriery, or a carefully managed fitness plan, we tailor our daily care to suit their exact physical and mental needs.

πŸ’€ Plenty of Rest: We strictly control our horses working hours and all our horses enjoy at least 2 full days off a week (if not more).

🌱 Natural Turnout: Daily turnout in a settled, natural herd environment.

What we are looking for:

Height: 15hh+

Type: Cob / Cob cross

Temperament: Sane, sensible, and safe to walk, trot, and canter. They must be happy to work with a variety of riders of differing ages and abilities.

Whether you are struggling for time, facing rising costs, or just want your horse to have a secure, active, and pampered lifestyle, we can provide the perfect solution. Owners are more than welcome to stay in touch, visit, and remain a part of their horse's journey!
