I was asked to go out and scan a cat to see if they were microchipped — and I’m so glad I did.
The chip came up straight away… and it turned out this cat had been missing for 5 years after being clipped by a car all those years ago. The family never knew what happened. They never got answers. Their cat simply never came home.
But for the past 6 months, this little soul wasn’t alone.
A kind, gentle lady had been caring for him — feeding him, keeping him warm, making sure he felt safe. She didn’t know his past. She didn’t know his name. She didn’t know he had a family out there who had spent years wondering.
She just cared.
Every single day.
Because kindness doesn’t need a reason.
Today she asked for a microchip check “just in case”, hoping it might help him. And that kindness — that simple act of compassion — changed everything.
The owner was found. After five long years, they finally had answers… and the chance to be reunited with the pet they’d never stopped thinking about.
And that’s exactly why microchips work.
They hold stories.
