KEEP PETS INSIDE!
With the warm weather this week, please keep all your pets indoors when possible. We understand that they will need to maybe go out to use the toilet but please, DO NOT WALK YOUR DOGS!
Keep plenty of fresh water available, close curtains to try keep areas of your home more shaded and if you have them, offer cooling mats/body suits. It is normal for your pet to be more lethargic and even be less interested in food but if you have any concerns, please contact your vet. Stay cool everyone!

Dear customers, for this next week , due to roadworks, you cannot access our car park from Station Road. you can carefully drive in through the exit on Victoria Road. We do not have a one way system for the short term due to the roadworks. We are hoping that they will be completed by the end of this week.
Please take great care coming into the back of the car park due to other car users potentially coming out and pedestrians. We very much appreciate your help with this and sincerely apologise for any difficulties as a result.
Many thanks for your support and patience .
Best wishes
Cheryl Myles and all staff at Friendly

Fledgling Birds🚨
At this time of year, we see many young birds being brought into the practice. If you find a fluffy young bird hopping on the ground, chirping, or fluttering around — this is completely normal behaviour for a fledgling.
Fledglings are still learning to fly, they often hop around on the ground for up to 2 weeks before they can fly! Their parents are usually nearby, feeding and watching over them, even if you can’t see them immediately. Taking them away from the area often means separating them from the best chance they have of survival. If the parents can see you there, they won't come down to feed their baby.
Please remember:
✅ Leave fledglings where they are whenever possible
✅ Keep pets and children away from the area
✅ If the bird is in immediate danger (road, cat, etc.), gently move it to a nearby bush or sheltered spot
✅ Observe from a distance — parents often return once people leave
A bird only needs rescuing if it is:
❌ Clearly injured
❌ Covered in flies or other beasties
❌ Weak, cold, or unable to stand
The kindest thing you can usually do is leave them with their parents while they learn how to be birds 💚
