🐾 Being trusted with someone’s pet is a responsibility I never take lightly.
This week I’m caring for a diabetic cat, another cat whose thyroid medication has recently been increased, and dogs whose owners are away.
It’s not just about food and cuddles — it’s noticing changes, keeping to routines and making sure medication is given correctly.
After caring for pets since 2007, I’m very proud that people trust me with the important stuff too. ❤️🐾

A year without Isla …

A year ago today I lost my beautiful Isla. ❤️
I’m not really sure why I feel the need to post this on my pet sitting page, other than perhaps because loving animals is such a huge part of who I am and why I do what I do.
A year sounds like a long time, but I can still remember all of Isla’s little ways as though she were here yesterday. The funny things she did, her expressions, her habits and all those tiny things that probably meant nothing to anyone else but meant everything to me.
Five months later I lost Theo too, and suddenly two enormous parts of my life were gone within such a short space of time.
I have Buckley now, who is very much his own little character and has brought noise, mischief and a new kind of happiness into my life. But having another dog doesn’t make you forget the ones who came before. There is room to love him completely and still miss Isla and Theo terribly.
I’ve had a cry about them both today, as I still often do. Grief for a much-loved pet doesn’t seem to follow a timetable. They become part of our everyday lives, our routines and our memories, and when they’re gone it’s the smallest things you find yourself remembering.
Perhaps that’s really why I wanted to post this. When you trust me with your pets, I understand just how much they mean to you. They’re never “just pets”.
One year without you, Isla. Still remembered. Still missed. Still loved. ❤️
And my beautiful Theo, never far from my thoughts either. 💙

📣 THE MONTHLY MOAN – AUGUST EDITION 😂🐾
As we reach the end of an incredibly busy summer, it’s time for my first little Monthly Moan…
This month’s minor misdemeanours include:
💷 Underpaying me – a couple of times I’ve been paid less than the amount due. I may be reasonably priced, but sadly I haven’t introduced a “pay what you fancy” scheme just yet. 😂
🥫 Not leaving enough pet food – I’m very happy to pop out and buy more if your pet runs out, but please remember to reimburse me. I love your pets dearly, but I’m not quite ready to start providing their all-inclusive catering too! 🐶🐱
And now the important bit…
❤️ A HUGE thank you to the vast majority of my customers who are impeccably behaved!
To everyone who leaves everything I need, pays the correct amount promptly, sends clear instructions and generally makes my life easier — thank you.
It has been an incredibly busy summer and those little things make a massive difference when I’m rushing from one furry (or feathery!) customer to the next.
Your pets have been wonderful.
Most of you have been too. 😇😂
Monthly Moan over. Normal service resumed. 🐾

Does this mean I don’t have to water any gardens today? 🤣 ☔️ ⛈️

It’s all about knowing when to be there… 🐾💍
Being a wedding chaperone isn’t just about bringing your dog to the wedding and making sure they look fabulous for the photographs.
A big part of my role is understanding the flow of the day — and, importantly, understanding the couple.
There are moments when I need to be right there: helping with the dog, getting them ready for photographs, making sure they’re settled and happy, or quietly stepping in if something unexpected happens.
And then there are moments when the couple needs to concentrate on each other, their guests and everything happening around them.
That’s when I stay in the background.
I’m constantly watching, listening and judging the situation — knowing when to approach, when to offer help, and when to simply stay out of the way.
The couple shouldn’t have to worry about where their dog is, whether they’re getting enough attention, or what happens if plans change.
That’s my job. 🐶❤️
With years of experience caring for dogs and my experience as cabin crew, I’m very used to reading situations, anticipating what might be needed and remaining calm when plans change.
Because the best wedding chaperone isn’t the person you notice all day…
It’s the person who makes sure you don’t have to worry about your dog at all. 💍🐾

A thoughtful gift ❤️
Some gifts mean more than words can really say. ❤️
A lovely pet-sitting customer hand-delivered this beautiful painting of my two gorgeous dogs who I lost recently. She never even knew them, but took the time to find photos of them online and paint this for me.
Honestly, it made me cry.
Not just because the painting is so beautiful, but because someone took the time to remember two dogs she had never met and create something so incredibly thoughtful. I miss them every single day, and seeing them captured like this was very emotional. 🥹❤️
Thank you. You know who you are. ❤️🐾

A little note from your pet sitter who seems to have accidentally become a gardener! 😂

I’m always happy to water your plants while I’m doing pet visits. It’a a little courtesy I’m more than happy to provide

BUT … we are now heading into our 5th heatwave and quite frankly some of your plants are making this job HARD (it’s the busiest 2 weeks of the year).

So whilst I will absolutely continue to give your plants a drink while I’m caring for your pets, please remember that in this weather I can water them but I cannot perform miracles.
