The Cat Clinic

16/10/2026

is an opportunity to champion feral cats – who live life on their own terms, hunting for survival, well-adapted to outdoor life and keeping their distance from people. 🐈 Feral cats are not strays and they would not be suited to life as pets. They are part of the rich spectrum of cats that share our world.

A polite request & reminder to please collect any requested medications within 10 working days & to also call the clinic on the day that you are collecting.

When requested medications are ready you should receive a text to let you know but this sometimes slips through the net. If you haven't heard from us within 48 working hours please feel free to call to check if your medication is ready for collection.

Many thanks.

Portsmouth Cats Lost, Found & Rehomed are an amazing local charity. Like most cat charities they are full to the brim. Please contact them if you are able to help.
We take food & other cat related donations here for them at the clinic.

Some cats will get on with other cats & some absolutely will not. This is an interesting watch.

Do your cats seem to be constantly fighting? Or perhaps they almost...

We are excited that this weekend is the start of our refurbishment, the reception area may look quite different next time you are in.

While the refurbishment is taking place we will be holding less stock of toys and food, if you are used to buying stock food please bear in mind that this may need to be ordered in for you.

Thank you for your understanding.

Did you know your cats only have 30 teeth compared to our 32?

As they’re lacking that all-important opposable thumb, our feline family members can struggle to keep their teeth in top tip condition! Never fear, we can help them out!

If you notice your cat:
Has bad breath
Is not grooming as much as usual
Drooling
Pawing at their mouth
Struggling to eat/ reduced appetite

Please do not hesitate to give us a call to get checked out by one of our feline-friendly clinicians. Book online at www.thecatclinic.co.uk or call 02392831000 for a dental examination, and advice on the most suitable dental care plan for you and your cat

How old are your feline family members?

Cats age differently from humans, and their needs change as they get older.

Use our simple cat age calculator to find out your cat’s age in human years and speak to our vets about tips on how to care for them at every stage of life.
