Dog grooming is by no means just cuddling dogs all day. It’s actually an incredibly physically and mentally demanding profession to be in.

Burn out rates are very high across the industry, mainly due to prices being too low yet expectations high. Most people have no idea the level of skill needed to perform this job well

The cuddles are the best bit, the perk and the thing that makes us all to keep going 🤎

I used to think they would never come back. I had to change my attitude. Instead of thinking, iv waited long enough. I tried waiting a little bit longer. The dog is processing, sometimes they may make towards and then walk away, several times! It’s all part of the process. Don’t give up too soon!

Ever heard someone say “we were just about to give up, and he got it!”

It’s not usually that your dog won’t get it... it’s that you’re not giving the process long enough

We’re often not talking hours. It’s just that minutes feel like hours if you’re not patient enough 🤎

What happens if your dog comes to the salon matted?

A lot of my dogs have come in matted recently which is mostly my fault for being off injured for 7 weeks! It’s not easy to get in to a good groomers at short notice. Then there’s trust to consider, for your dog as well as for you

The owner of these dogs is usually good at brushing them but has been unwell and in hospital so that combined with me being off injured has resulted in 2 matted poochons.

We do understand that things happen, and so does matting. No judgement here please. As long as you understand why we are doing this, that is all we ask

Keep your dog on a schedule and make it a priority as much as you can. This video just shows that for a lot of dogs professional grooming is a welfare necessity 🤎

If you make the hairdryer an anxious game of chase. Your pup is not going to learn to be calm when being dried
