There is a lot of mis-information by breeders that you shouldnt groom your puppy before a year. This is WRONG! Most groomers offer "puppy packages" to gently introduce your puppy to grooming. You can book your puppy in for a puppy package from just 10 weeks (after they've settled into their new home). Why book your puppy in that early?
1) to get your puppy used to the sights, sounds etc of the grooming process early, meaning less stress and issues. A full groom shouldn't be before 6-8 months, however this doesn't mean they can't get used to baths, drying, brushing, nail clips, paw pads etc. And the groomer can also slowly introduce equipment and build up to a full groom, making it less scary for your pup.
2) your puppy and groomer can build a bond, meaning your puppy is happy and relaxed with a person they know and trust.
3) it also helps prevent issues such as matting or skin issues like dry skin or fleas/ticks.
