One walk yesterday really stayed with me.

I watched a young dog who was loving every second of being outβ€”sniffing, looking around and taking in the world. Each time the lead became tight, he was pulled back and told off.

The last time I saw it happen, he licked his lips and seemed unsure what he was supposed to do.

Today, my training session with young Bonnie looked very different.

We headed to an enclosed field where we took away the pressure of traffic, other dogs and people. We simply rewarded check-ins, celebrated the choice to walk with us and played fun recall games.

That is how relationships grow.

Walks aren't about perfect heelwork every second. They're about helping our dogs feel safe, understood and involved. When dogs learn that checking in with us is rewarding, we're building trust and bonds that help create togetherness on walks.

Connection first. The walking follows. πŸ’›

Something so simple rings so true πŸ€—

Sarah Fisher had so many wise words for those who worked with her. This is one that serves as a reminder to us all that our dog's struggles are real and they are not always easy for us to navigate. But getting to the other side and seeing them shine makes it all worthwhile.

Thank you Sarah ❀️

Are you struggling with your anxious dog? Do you feel that no-one understands what you go through on a daily basis?

I am here for you πŸ’›

When I met my wonderful customers and started to support them on a one to one basis, a couple of things were very clear with each and every one of them....

They felt that walks have become stressful and are not enjoyable anymore, visitors were now non-existent and they felt alone.

Knowing that these parents all felt alone with no-one to talk to inspired me to help them realise that they are definitely not alone.

I wanted to create a safe place where they could connect with people going through the same situation as well as receive support from me at the same time.

This is why I have created the Support & Bloom Club! A private community for parents of anxious dogs to connect and learn together.

I would love to help support you in the Club if this resonates with you.....

Try it out for the first month for only πŸ’šΒ£15πŸ’š to start receiving support and understanding from people who know what you are going through.

πŸ’œ Then it was Chilli's first session. Her family have been working hard this week with her loose lead walking foundations. Chilli is a strong puller and loses focus quickly when outside.

We strengthened the foundations more with some figure of 8 walking, which is tricky for some dogs.
She did amazing and responded so well to stopping on a tight lead & turning back to loosen it again when we ventured further outside.

Great work Chilli & family πŸ’›

πŸ’š First up I went to meet the lovely Pomeranian Rocky and his parent.

Rocky barks and lunges at people, some dogs and bikes/scooters outside as well as visitors to his home.

He was barking a warning at me when I first walked towards them, so I listened and stopped at a distance, then turned to the side so as not to appear confrontational. I then used a method of giving him more space with a choice to come back as far as he felt comfortable with. This builds trust and is the foundation to building relationships for my anxious doggy pals.

Over the course of the Consultation Rocky warmed to me and we were able to have a nice walk together, reduce reactions to others and was even fine with me being in his home πŸ’›

His parent is going to join my Support & Bloom Club to help her help him more as well as carry on the amazing work she is doing with Lana Smith Soco Fairy DogMother.

Collaboration with other ethical pet professionals help our dog parents achieve more success ❀️
