To start the month off, we are sharing some of the wonderful dogs owned by our team!

🌱 Grass seeds 🌱

This lovely boy is Rolo who recently visited us with a suspicious lump under his neck. After investigations from our team, the cause was found to be a grass seed that had worked its way beneath the skin and caused an infection.

Grass seeds may be small, but they can cause big problems. They commonly become lodged in:

👁️ Eyes, causing pain and irritation
👂 Ears, leading to head shaking and discomfort
👄 Mouths and throats, causing coughing, sneezing, or difficulty eating
🐾 Paw pads and feet, where they can burrow in and cause swelling, limping, and infection

During the warmer months, don't forget to check your pets carefully after walks, especially around their paws, ears, eyes, and coat. If you notice swelling, redness, excessive licking, limping, or discomfort, please get in touch with us.

🐱 National Kitten Day! 🐱

❤️ Today we're celebrating the tiny chaos machines that somehow fit so much mischief into such a small package! From midnight zoomies, to attacking invisible enemies, and sleeping in places they definitely shouldn't, kittens keep us on our toes—and we wouldn't have it any other way!

⚠️ Don't forget that kittens need vaccinations, parasite treatment, microchipping and regular health checks to help them grow into happy, healthy cats. 🩺🐱

🐰☀️ Keeping Rabbits Cool ☀️🐰

With the high temperatures this week, our fluffy friends can struggle to keep cool. The good news is there are lots of simple ways to help!

🐰 Try providing:
❄️ Cool ceramic tiles to lay on
🧊 Frozen water bottles wrapped in a towel
🌳 Plenty of shade and fresh drinking water
🌬️ Good ventilation and airflow

🏠 DIY cooling hacks:
• Freeze water bottles, cover in a towel, and place them in their enclosure for rabbits to lie beside.
• Pop ceramic tiles in the fridge before placing them in their hutch or run
• Serve rabbit-safe herbs or leafy greens straight from the fridge, and soaked in cold water for a refreshing treat.
