🚨 DOG OWNERS – PLEASE READ! 🚨

🌾 Grass seeds and foxtails may be tiny… but they can cause BIG problems for your dog. 🐶💔

At this time of year, they’re everywhere – in long grass, fields, parks, and even along footpaths.

These sharp little seeds can work their way into your dog’s:
🐾 Paws (especially between the toes)
👂 Ears
👁️ Eyes
👃 Nose
🐕 Coat and skin

Once they get under the skin, they don’t just fall out – they can keep travelling deeper into the body, causing painful infections and sometimes even requiring surgery to remove. 😢

⚠️ Keep an eye out for these warning signs:
🔸 Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
🔸 Limping
🔸 Head shaking or scratching at the ears
🔸 Sudden sneezing or nosebleeds
🔸 Swollen, red, or painful areas
🔸 Eye redness, blinking, or discharge

💚 Prevention is always better than treatment!

✔️ Check your dog’s paws after every walk.
✔️ Feel through their coat, especially if they’re long-haired.
✔️ Check their ears and around their eyes.
✔️ Brush them regularly to remove any hidden seeds.

✂️ As a groomer, I always keep an eye out for grass seeds during appointments, but it’s important to check your dog after every walk too.

❗If you suspect your dog has a grass seed or foxtail embedded, don’t wait. Contact your vet as soon as possible—the sooner it’s treated, the better.
