Hello everyone!

It’s an inconspicuous Saturday afternoon and I am here to spice it up a little with an announcement 👀

I know I’ve rebranded already once before but I’m doing it again (I can hear you sighing!)

Bug Print felt like a place I needed to keep my other interests separate from so that the focus of the space wasn’t lost and I didn’t annoy people with my other interests. Over time, it’s become clear that I’ve outgrown Bug Print and evolved into someone new and the pressure of trying to be both people is frankly overwhelming.

I’ve sat on my hands for a long time as I wasn’t sure who that someone new was exactly and I needed a little time to find my way.

Over my time in the hobby, I have changed and grown a lot from who I once was and I no longer feel that either space truly reflects the whole of me now. I’d love the opportunity to reintroduce myself to you all 🥰

I will be rebranding as Sunset Species.

I’d like to talk a little bit about what that represents because I’m a bit corny and sentimental like that.

Sunsets represent the final chapter in a phase of life, letting go of stress, rebirth and peaceful completion amongst many other things. I feel that this has such a spiritual meaning behind it for this new journey.

I also wanted to have a little piece of the old me in the logo so I had to bring the jumping spider mascot with me.

The Marigolds are a tribute to my first jumping spider, Marigold. I got her in 2021 and she had babies for so many of you in 2022. She gave me the gift of this community and I owe so much to her.

I also owe a great deal to the friends I have made along the way. Friends who have reminded me through some very difficult times recently that I am supported, loved and that there is a safe space for me in this community. Who have encouraged me to be who I am inside and never expected me to be anyone different. So this change is for them too, to honour them. You know who you are.

I hope you’ll embrace my rebrand and continue to join and support me as I grow and evolve some more. I’m blessed to be on this path with you all by my side and I’m excited to keep blossoming and shining for years to come.

Part 3 of showing you my other animals whilst I’m on hiatus.

This is Miss Candyfloss, Floss, Flossie, or Bunny for short. Having her is an absolute joy. Leopard geckos are some of the most interesting, complex and rewarding animals I’ve ever kept. Most nights she taps on the door of her enclosure, not to come out, she just wants me to chat to her.

I can’t believe I ever thought leopard geckos were boring. What a travesty. 😅

This is Seabright, and he’s a Chahoua gecko. He’s a really beautiful guy, who I’m hopefully going to make some magical babies with next season. 🤭

As I’m out of the game with posting, I thought I’d introduce you to a few of my animals who aren’t jumping spiders.

Here is Party Streamers, and Birthday cake, who were bred by my friend over at Cruella Creatures. They’re as mischievous as they are adorable. All crested geckos have their own magical personalities, which is what I love most about them.

They’re basically giant jumping spiders. 🤭 Just large versions of a jumping spider enclosure, jumpy, and come in a wide variety of beautiful colours. If you are thinking of branching into reptiles, I think they’re an excellent choice.
