🐴 **You never stop learning when it comes to horses!**

I joined a brilliant Horseplay webinar last night with and came away with so much to think about! 🤓

Even though I don't currently have a horse of my own, there was so much useful information that I can take into my onsite fittings with Zenozoic Halters. Every horse is an individual, and the more we understand them, the better we can support them. ❤️

The app in the image - Equine Voice.com also sounds fascinating, with the potential to help identify and support herds that might be struggling. It’s amazing to see how much we can learn about horses by looking more closely at their behaviour and how they interact with one another. There is so much support on the app or the Hub.

It got me thinking about just how much there still is to discover about these incredible animals, and how much they can teach us if we're prepared to listen!

Not horse related, but anyone who knows me, knows I'm a tad protective of hedgehogs!

I came across this guy who makes the best ones that I would be sure a hedgehog would choose! Perfect time of year to buy one ready for hibernation 🦔🥰🦔 AND they're made in Devon! 😁

There are too many in shops that would be far too dangerous for a hedgehog to hibernate in. These tick all the boxes!

So if you want a warm fuzzy feeling by helping a hedgehog or 2, nows your chance 😁🦔🦔

This sounds interesting! I may not have a horse, but I'm still joining this just to learn more 🙏 it may help a client one day 🤗

Is there a horse in your field who always ends up at the edge of the group? One who gets moved off the hay, or who seems unsettled every time someone new arrives?

It’s easy to put this down to personality: the bossy one, the bottom of the pecking order. But research on free-living horses shows that herds aren’t built around a rigid hierarchy. They’re built around relationships. Horses choose who to graze beside, who to rest with and who to groom, and those bonds help them feel safe.

When our management works against those relationships, with groups that change, limited space or hay in one place, tension follows. What looks like a difficult horse is often a horse coping with a situation they can’t avoid.

This Wednesday I’m running a free live Q&A on horse social structures. We’ll look at:

how horses really organise their relationships

why the “lead mare” and pecking order ideas only tell part of the story

where seasonal management changes can create conflict

simple ways to support your horse’s social needs through winter

Then we’ll look at your own horses and your questions.

As many of you may know, I'm closing The Happy Horse Company on 31st December to concentrate on growing Zenozoic Halters.

I'm now down to the **last remaining stock** of some fantastic equine supplements, and I'd really love to see them go to horses who can benefit from them rather than end up in the bin!
