After almost 10 years in this business, one of the hardest parts of pet care is something people don’t always see.
We do not just walk our client dogs, feed them, or care for them. We build a bond with them. They become part of our daily life, part of our routine, part of our heart.
Day after day, year after year, you show up for them. You pick them up, walk the same paths together, learn their little habits, their favourite spots in the park, their different moods, and the way they look at you when they are happy to see you. Over time, they become so much more than “a client’s dog.”
And that is why losing them is never easy.
Sometimes you drive past their house and your heart sinks for a moment. Sometimes you go back to the park where you walked them for years, and for a second it feels like you will see them again, running ahead, waiting for you, or looking back at you the way they always did.
This job is built on love, trust, routine, and connection. That is the beautiful part of it — and also the painful part.
We feel incredibly lucky to have shared so many moments with the dogs we have cared for over the years. They leave paw prints not only in their homes, but in our lives too.
Never forgotten. Always loved.
