Good morning, lovely pet parents of Skipton! ☀️

​Temperatures are set to soar from 22°C up to a scorching 32°C over the next couple of days! To keep your pups safe from extreme heat stroke and burnt paws, outdoor walks will be swapped for quick potty breaks and cool indoor play.

​Our schedule will be adjusted, and I’ll be reaching out directly to affected owners today with updates.

•Keep ice cubes floating in their water bowl.

•​Offer a damp, cool towel or cooling mat to rest on.

•​Try a frozen Kong or licky mat to keep them happily chilled indoors!

Pups coming into the salon today are in for a cool stay! The space is naturally chilly and our industrial fans are running full blast to keep your fur babies comfortable

It has been wonderfully busy in the salon lately, and furry friends like Pongo are keeping me on my toes!

Pongo stopped by for a quick nail trim today. 💅 He was a little nervous at first, but he powered right through like a absolute champ. Because his quicks are quite long, I took things nice and careful! only clipping what was strictly necessary to keep him safe and comfortable, before finishing up with the Dremel to smooth everything out so his paws stay nice and scratch-free.

I can't wait to welcome him back to the table soon for his full groom and de-shed!🛁🫧

From nervous and unsure to a total angel! 🤎 Teddy had a rough past experience elsewhere, so he was understandably apprehensive coming to someone new. Despite his nerves, he was incredible on the table! completely mat-free, let me clip his nails without a fuss, and handled everything like a pro. I'm so grateful his owner trusted me with this sweet boy, and knowing he came home as calm as can be means the world! 🐾✨

🚨 URGENT WARNING & UPDATE FOR LOCAL DOG OWNERS!! EMBSAY RESERVOIR 🚨

I am sharing this post to issue a vital warning to our local community and to ask for your prayers for a very brave little dog.

Recently, one of my regular walking dogs, little Buddy, was exposed to toxic blue-green algae at Embsay Reservoir and contracted a severe, life-threatening illness. The reality of this algae is brutal. Buddy hasn’t been able to eat in weeks, has suffered from severe bloody diarrhoea, making him scream from the pain and has been in absolute agony. He even had to undergo major surgery to fit a stoma and feeding tubes.

The wonderful news is that Buddy is an absolute warrior. He is fighting his way into recovery right now and coming out strong! 🐾💪

Before I found out about this toxic bloom, I had actually taken Maverick to the reservoir, and he put his paws in the water. As soon as I heard what happened to Buddy, I panicked and got in touch with Maverick's lovely owner. I am incredibly relieved to report that Maverick is completely fine and is as feisty and strong as ever! We got lucky with Maverick, and Buddy is fighting a miracle battle, but please do not take the risk with your pets.

Algae is a hidden danger that completely catches people out, so please protect your pets

🟢 WHAT TO LOOK FOR? Blue-green algae can look like green or turquoise scum, clumps, streaks, or a green "pea soup" layer on the surface of stagnant or slow-moving water, especially along the shoreline.

STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER! Do not let your dogs swim, paddle, or drink from Embsay Reservoir.

LEASH UP! Keep your dogs on a lead near any open or stagnant water right now.

KNOW THE SIGNS! Algae toxins are deadly. If your dog has contact with the water and shows signs of vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling, or weakness, call a vet immediately. Please keep sending all your love and positive thoughts to brave little Buddy as he continues his recovery journey, and please SHARE this post to keep our local fur babies safe! 💔❤️🐾

​That’s why I run a quiet, 1-on-1 home setup. No cage dryers, no loud barking, and no rush, just me giving your dog my full love and attention.

​I’m in the home stretch of finishing my Level 3 grooming qualification this December, and I’m looking to welcome a few new lovely dogs to my table! All breeds are warmly welcome, whether they need a deep deshed to save your carpets or just a calm, unhurried pamper. 🕊🐾
