Swaleside Veterinary Surgery We are an independent small animal Veterinary Practice in Teynham Kent, established in 1996 by John Flanagan MVB MRCVS.

Flo, a lovely Lurcher puppy, came to see us after a grass seed found its way into her ear. These tiny seeds can cause a lot of irritation and discomfort, but weโ€™re pleased to say we were able to remove it and hope sheโ€™s feeling much more comfortable now! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒพ Itโ€™s definitely grass seed season, so itโ€™s worth checking your pets regularly after walks, especially around their ears, paws, eyes and between their toes. Catching them early can help prevent more serious problems.

Weโ€™re proud to have Ewen as part of the Swaleside team. A Bristol Veterinary School graduate, Ewen qualified in 2001 with degrees in both Veterinary Science and Zoology and has spent over two decades caring for pets in busy small animal practices across the UK.

Known by colleagues as a true โ€œSwiss Army Knife of a Vet,โ€ Ewen has extensive experience across orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography, medicine, exotics, and dentistry. Ewen hopes to complete advanced certification in Dentistry and Oral Surgery later this year, further enhancing the advanced dental care and oral surgery services available to our patients.

Dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in pets, and Ewen is passionate about helping improve the comfort, health, and quality of life of pets through expert dental treatment and preventative care.

Weโ€™re incredibly lucky to have Ewenโ€™s expertise, compassion, and dedication at Swaleside Veterinary Surgery.

This gorgeous boy popped in to visit us recently with his mum, who was here for a post-operative check-up following her leg amputation surgery several weeks ago.

Weโ€™re delighted to say that Mum is recovering brilliantly and adapting wonderfully to life on three legs. As if that wasnโ€™t enough to make us smile, shortly after her surgery she welcomed this adorable little kitten into the world! ๐Ÿ’™

Seeing both Mum and baby doing so well is a lovely reminder of just how resilient our furry friends can be. We couldnโ€™t resist sharing this handsome little face with you all!๐Ÿ’š

Clare qualified in 2015 and has an extra certificate in exotic and zoo animals nursing.

Her favourite part of nursing is emergency care as she loves to see the team work as one in an emergency crisis and how everyone comes together for their patient.

We carried out full dental X-rays to check the health of all his teeth, gave them a thorough clean, and removed the damaged carnassial tooth. ๐Ÿฆทโœจ

Kim is one of our RVNs who qualified in 2018.
