Two posts in one day.....but I feel that this one needs to be shared, today I got to meet two of the best Hypo hounds Digby & Echo in work today, the charity came in and shared their experiences, I've heard of guide dogs, service dogs, emotional support dogs, all super important roles, but to me Hypo Hounds are the real deal superhero, they detect on coming hypos for children and adults with type 1 diabetes....these dogs saves lives every day, they reduce the need for hospitalisation saving our NHS valuable time and money..the potential to do more is massive, the charity needs our help!!!

We all want to keep pets happy and safe, it’s really important to be aware of the potentially poisonous hazards the new season brings – especially as many of them can very easily be found on the ground, we have seen them locally here in Sion Mills whilst out on walks.

Taking precautionary measures and being mindful of seasonal dangers when out and about with pets is key to help keep them safe this autumn.”

Three hidden autumn hazards to watch out for

1. Acorns – Acorns contain a chemical called gallotannin that’s toxic to dogs and ingestion can cause liver and kidney damage. Affected dogs will show signs that include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy and abdominal pain.

2. Mushrooms and toadstools – Some wild mushrooms are highly toxic and if swallowed can cause kidney and liver failure. Try and keep your dog away from all wild varieties.

3. Conkers – Conkers contain poison called aesculin which can cause drooling, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. Ingestion can also lead to potentially fatal intestinal blockages.

We want every dog, to have a comfortable and safe walk, don't forget to book in, we have walks available at different times of the day, we definitely don't mind getting out in the rain!

You never know when you're going to meet an absolute superstar, today I was competing in Newtownabbey and I met Seamus....he is amazing.... What a beautiful breed, just massive but such a kind gentle soul!!!! He stole the show!!

Hi everyone, just a wee reminder for everyone with the great weather ☀️ 🌞 this incoming weekend, please remember that our furry family members 🐶 🐕 need additional care, make sure to carry water 💦 with you, be careful of the heat 🌡️ on the pavements/road, if in doubt use the 7 seconds rule touch the area with your hand if it's too hot then no walkies!

First walk done and dusted this morning, we had the lovely Rocky, he was a superstar, great on the lead, brilliant with other dogs....thank you Edna for booking us!

Some of those down pours tonight have been unreal, but it's Friday night....we have the whole weekend to explore!!! Tomorrow we have the beautiful Rocky out first thing, then Benny is off for a wee dander in Cookstown, weather please be kind 🙏

We are out on our travels this morning doing a few messages....a quick pitstop, some how Benny seems to be able to wangle gravy bones everywhere he goes! I wonder why???
