Spent some time at Hilbrae Pets Hotel and Stray Kennels yesterday with these beauties!

Luna is finding kennel life quite stressful and doesn’t always show her best side in her kennel or when she first comes out. However, once she’s away from the noise and bustle, she is an absolute sweetheart. She’s looking for a home with people who have experience of incredibly high-energy breeds and can give her the outlet she needs.

Wilson (see video!) can be a little unsure around new people but considering it was our first meeting, he was a massive softie who just wanted bum scratches and plenty of fuss!

Leah was a real sweetie who loved having the chance to run and explore. After her walk, we sat on the benches in the car park, where she happily watched the world go by while soaking up lots of attention.

All three are lovely dogs who deserve the chance to show who they really are beyond the kennel environment ❤️

Meet Tommy 🐾

Tommy’s owner first got in touch for help with his lead reactivity. Since then, we’ve been working on loose-lead walking and strengthening his touch command. While there’s still progress to be made, he has come such a long way since our very first session and we’re incredibly proud of how well he’s doing.

Our current focus is teaching Tommy a settle to help him stay calm when visitors come over and helping Tommy feel more comfortable with having his nails clipped. We’re working on changing his emotional response to the nail clippers by creating positive experiences around handling his feet and gradually desensitising him to the clippers at a pace he can cope with.

Because Tommy can become frustrated if training sessions go on for too long, we keep everything short and achievable to help him stay engaged. He’s a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait to see what he achieves next 💙
