Yard life recently…🌞🐴❤️

07/07/2026

We have had a summer clear out and we have a few rugs that have belonged to horses past.

All are in usable condition, some may need a wash or some minor repairs.

We are happy to offer these out to people who want/need them, the only condition being they donate a minimum of £5 to an equine charity of their choice.

All rugs to be collected from Atterley Farm, Much Wenlock.

We would like to put on a gentle reminder to all local drivers in Much Wenlock & Surrounding.

🐴Please pass horses WIDE AND SLOW

🐴Do not make sudden noises or movements (I.e beep your horn) if you have an electric car or a push bike, it might be that we can’t hear you right away, we aren’t ignoring you!

🐴Remember - horses are flight animals and they sometimes need a minute to adjust to their surroundings - having five minutes of patience will make the experience safest for you, the horse and rider.

All riders leaving our yard wear hi vis clothing, and we will ALWAYS say thank you to passing cars.

& that’s a wrap!

Hottest day so far, 16 horses, x3 showers each, finally all turned out for the night in full kit.

Oh, and all four dogs just had a shower too! 🚿🥵🤣

Peace out!

🚿🌞We just wanted to hop on and talk about keeping horses cool in this weather! 🌞🚿

As many people know, here at Atterley we treat everyone’s horses like our own. The past few days have been difficult for the horses - and us! But we have made it work with a dedicated plan & tailored routine to suit the rising temperatures! 🌡️

☀️Monday & Tuesday saw us bringing all the horses without shade in during the day, a lunchtime hose off and back out in the late afternoon.

☀️Wednesday & Thursday we began the double hose! All horses in and hosed at lunchtime & again before turnout in full fly & sun protection.

☀️Today all the horses were in & had a morning hose before 8:30! Will see how they fare throughout the day…is this the day of the triple hose? 🤣

One of the benefits of living on site means your horse gets 24/7 care, and we are here to spot anything that may go amiss. ❤️

Let’s see what tomorrow brings! 🥵🔥☀️

Cold hose, Fly spray, Repeat…🚿🧼🌞🌡️🪰

We’ve opted to keep ours in, lunchtime showers and out in full kit at night! How have you been keeping your horses cool? 😎
