😁 Another New Face! 😁

Continuing our introductions of our newest members of staff we would like to introduce ABI-LOU! 🥰

💙 Abi-Lou is a second year Student Veterinary Nurse studying at Hartpury University in Gloucester and is with us for 12 months to complete her placement year.

🩺She has had a passion for helping animals since she was very young and loves to see their personalities and mischievous sides come out.

🐕 In Abi-Lou’s spare time she likes to go on long hikes and visit beaches with her family and ‘troublesome, wonky and affectionate’ little papillon, Milou 💖

😄You may have noticed some new faces recently! 😄

We are extremely lucky to have recently gained two new members of staff to aid in their training.🥰 Being an RCVS Accredited Training Practice means we can help student vets and veterinary nurses with their educational journey from just a few days to a full year of work experience! This ensures they are fully confident and competent in the practical aspect of the job alongside the theoretical side before they fully qualify and get those much deserved letters after their name! 💙

First up we have LUCY!🥰

💙Lucy is currently completing her placement year at the practice as part of her Veterinary Nursing degree at Harper Adams University and is due to graduate in 2028.

🩺She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, with a particular interest in surgery and anaesthesia.

🐕Outside of veterinary nursing, Lucy enjoys spending time with her Labrador, long distance running, hiking and going to the gym.

💪⛰️❤️

A huge thank you to Maddi and Shaun for taking on the striking Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge! 🐾 ⛰️

They climbed the combined 1,585m of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, and raised £1,585 - matching every metre climbed with £1 raised! ❤️

Maddi has long supported Pet Blood Bank and chose to take on this challenge in memory of Bandit, who needed a lifesaving blood transfusion that gave him another three years with his family 🐶

Thank you Maddi and Shaun for taking on such a challenging adventure 👏

⛰🥇A ROARING SUCCESS!! 🥇⛰

Maddi & Shaun have successfully completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in an incredible 10 hours and 28 minutes!! 💪

This challenge involved hiking 24.7 miles on foot and conquering 3 peaks with a total ascent of 1585 metres! The golden rule being it had to be completed in less than 12 hours which they absolutely smashed!! ⛰

They managed to raise an outstanding £1588 for Pet Blood Bank UK in loving memory of their dog, Bandit. (That's over £1 for every metre they climbed!!) ❤️

A huge 'Well Done' to you both and a huge 'Thank You' to everyone who helped to support them with donations and words of support! 💙

🌸Lovely Luna 🌸

The very snuggly Luna came in for her spay surgery last week and stole all of our hearts in the process! Her lovely family packed her favourite blanket and 2 favourite toys along with her food to make her feel nice and comfortable during her stay with us. 🥰

We always encourage pet parents to pack their pets comfort items as having familiar items in our patients kennels that smell like home help to keep them calm and give them some reassurance in an unusual environment. 💙

We also use Pet Remedy natural calming sprays throughout the entire practice, with plug in diffusers always turned on in both our cat and dog wards. 💚

Another way we help to keep your animals nice and calm while visiting us is through the use of music! We will often have calming classical music (especially the Pride & Prejudice playlist!) playing throughout our kennel area which has been proven to help reduce stress. 🎵

We want to make your pets visit as stress-free and positive as we can, so putting lots of little things in place can help to make a huge difference! 💙

😍Meet Terrence & Theodora 😍

Terrence had an appointment with RVN Maddi last week following his castration surgery and bought his sister along for some company and moral support! They both enjoyed roaming around the consult room and eating lots of Dreamies treats! 🐟

Believe it or not, these 2 are siblings from the same litter!! Aren't they gorgeous?! 💙

We have unfortunately had a cat brought in to us following a road traffic accident. Due to the severity of the injuries we are very sorry to say she has sadly had to be euthanised on welfare grounds. 🌈

Details:
All Black.
Female - unsure of neuter status.
A Bulgarian microchip was found but unfortunately it was never registered so no owner details are available.
Found near The Mount, Shrewsbury.

If you believe this may be your cat or would like some more information then please call the practice on 01743 360614 so we can try to reunite her with her family. 💙

💙Severn Hospice Dog Show 💙
Saturday 5th September, 10am - 4pm

We are so pleased to announce that we are proudly sponsoring theSevern Hospice dog show and our very own Vet Richard will yet again be on the judging panel! 🐕

This is their second year of hosting and it is set to be a fabulous day for humans and pooches alike with lots of fun activities, stalls, a raffle, a BBQ, plenty of cakes from the Refresh team and so much more!🎪

Any pooch can enter for £2 per class or 3 classes for £5!

🐾101 Dalmatians!! 🐾

All of our Disney dreams came true this morning when a basket full of happiness came through our doors! 8 gorgeous dalmatian puppies! 😍

These beautiful girls and boys came in for their first vaccinations & health check with Vet Elliott and Student Vet Nurse Lucy before heading off to their new homes this weekend! They were all so brave and we can't wait to watch them grow! 💖

Did you know? It is a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped by 8 weeks old ⚠️
