For many years, Medivet & Partners has proudly supported the Wilderness Foundation, helping to protect endangered rhino populations and support vital conservation work in South Africa. Now the partnership is evolving. From caring for pets every day, to supporting wildlife, communities and the environment, the Wilderness Foundation partnership helps bring One Health to life.

Medivets donations in the past have helped:

•Treat over 50 rhinos attacked by poachers as well as orphaned rhinos.

•Contribute towards the running and maintenance of specialised anti-poaching planes.

•Fund 2 tracker dogs over a 7-year period supporting the reduction in the number of rhinos killed.

•Provide rabies vaccines for over 2000 dogs in local communities.

•Provide tick, flea and worming for nearly 1000 dogs in local communities.

•Spay and neuter over 100 dogs to support population control and reduce the spread of disease.

Medivet will now provide a group donation each year to the Wilderness Foundation rather than relying on fundraising. Through Medivets partnership with the Wilderness Foundation, the impact is extending and will help support healthier animals, healthier communities and healthier ecosystems.

That's what One Health means.

Meet Gypsy.
Gypsy recently stayed with us for a few days following a bout of Acute Haemorrhagic Diarrhoea Syndrome (AHDS) with secondary cholangitis. We are lucky enough at the hospital to stock life saving products from the pet blood bank. Pictured is Gypsy receiving a fresh frozen plasma transfusion. As you can see patients are monitored very closely during these procedures as some patients can suffer transfusion reactions. Thankfully this wasn’t the case with Miss Gypsy. She is now back home stealing steak from her Mum’s kitchen side, cheeky!

Thankfully more than 90% of cases that present to us with diarrhoea are mild and can be managed with supportive treatment as outpatients.

Meet Beautiful Bella! Isn't she gorgeous?
Bella came to us today to be spayed, she was such a good girl. She is now looking like a supermodel in her body suit whilst enjoying lots of fuss from the team

✨️ Meet Cherry's gorgeous puppies ✨️

🐾💕 These adorable little Shih Tzu puppies are already two weeks old! 🥹

They came in for their 2-week check-up and routine worming, where they were all given a thorough health check to make sure they’re growing and developing as expected. 🐶🍼

Mum is doing really well aswell and looking after them beautifully!

Their eyes are about to open, little personalities are beginning to emerge, and there’s nothing quite like those tiny puppy cuddles! 🥰
