I’m planning a 6-week Reactive Dog Support Programme to help dogs and their owners work towards calmer, more confident walks.

Over six weeks, we’ll work on:

💛 Developing confidence at a pace your dog can manage
🎓 Practical skills to help you navigate everyday walks
🤝 Helping you feel more confident handling challenging situations

Every dog is different, and the aim is progress at your dog’s pace — not forcing interactions or expecting instant results.

🎆 Firework night can be a stressful time for our dogs.

Here are a few ways to help your dog feel safer:

🐾 Create a quiet, comfortable space where they can retreat
🐾 Close curtains and windows to reduce flashes and noise
🐾 Put on music or the TV to help mask the bangs
🐾 Keep your dog indoors once fireworks are likely to start
🐾 Offer enrichment such as a lick mat, stuffed Kong or favourite chew
🐾 Stay calm and reassuring—your dog isn’t being naughty, they’re feeling frightened
🐾 Make sure their microchip and ID details are up to date

If your dog struggles with fireworks, start preparing now. Gradual sound training and positive support can make a real difference—never force your dog to “get used to” the noise.
