Just in case you fancy it or know anyone who might, I wanted to pass this along.

On May 4, The Cinnamon Trust is hosting a Big Walk in Sheffield to raise awareness of the vital support available to older people and those who are terminally ill in caring for their pets.

It’s part of a nationwide initiative, with hundreds of people across the UK taking part on the same day to help spread the message that no one has to give up their pet just because they need a little help.

The event is free to join, and if you register before April 21, you’ll receive a free goody bag on the day.

If you haven’t come across The Cinnamon Trust before, they’re the only national charity dedicated to helping older people and the terminally ill care for their pets. Their network of 20,000+ volunteers supports with dog walking, cat grooming, vet trips, short‑term foster care during hospital stays, and even lifelong care for pets who outlive their owners. For many, this help means they can keep their beloved companions at home for longer.

I'm honoured to receive another award from the Quality Business Awards. 👏

It’s a grand feeling to do good work, and let’s be honest, a bit of recognition never goes amiss. I don’t do it for the awards, but they do give the spirits a lift… especially when I glance at next week’s weather forecast ☔.

This line of work isn’t always a walk in the park, sometimes it’s a muddy trek through the woods, but it’s deeply rewarding in its own way.

These awards add to the feel-good factor and quietly confirm what I’ve always believed: that graft, heart, and a splash of Yorkshire grit do pay off.

Just wanted to give a heads up to dog owners. Especially the dogs I walk for when I am walking them (as I can be a little slack, especially with my own dog), but there has been warnings issued regarding the potential £2k fine over their pet's not wearing a collar with up to date information on - even if the animals are microchipped.

All dogs must wear a collar with the owner's name and address on it when walking in a public place. Adding a mobile phone number to the tag is still optional (but far more important in my opinion).

People who walk their dogs without the correct information on their pet's collar can be hit with a £2,000 fine.
