Sometimes I think our dogs have life figured out better than we do! 😂🐾💚

They're not bothered about how far they've walked, what time it is or what tomorrow might bring.

They're just happy to be outside, having a good sniff, exploring somewhere new and enjoying every little moment. 🥰🌿

And when you think about it, maybe that's something we could all do a little more of.

Slow down, enjoy what's around us and appreciate the simple things. 💚

Our four-legged friends really do teach us more than they realise. 🐾

And just like that… another Friday is here! 🐾💚

It's been another lovely week at Sniff & Stride, filled with familiar faces, waggy tails, plenty of sniffing, exploring and, of course, a little bit of mischief along the way! 😂🐶

We've also been busy behind the scenes with something we're really excited about… Secure Field Fridays! 🐾💨

We've had a few meet & greets this week with some lovely dogs who are interested in joining our secure field adventures. 🥰

We've just got one more meet & greet to go, and then we can start carefully matching everyone into little groups based on their personalities, confidence and play styles. 💚

And we've still got a couple of spaces available! 👀🐾
We're particularly looking for some high-energy, playful pooches who would love to join a Golden Retriever and a Labrador for some fun in the secure field! 🐶💨

Ideally, we're looking for dogs who absolutely LOVE playing with other dogs, enjoy a good chase and have plenty of energy to burn. 😂

Of course, it's not just about having lots of energy! We want to make sure everyone is comfortable together and has a similar play style, which is why we'll arrange a meet & greet before introducing any new dogs to the group. 💚

So if you've got a playful, sociable pooch who sounds like they'd fit right in, drop us a message and tell us a little bit about them! 🥰🐾

We're really looking forward to getting Secure Field Fridays up and running regularly and seeing some lovely new friendships form along the way.

You know you're a dog walker when… 😂🐾💚

Nobody quite prepares you for the muddy paws, endless washing, permanently filthy car and a camera roll full of dogs that aren't even yours! 😂🙈

But somewhere between all the chaos, muddy adventures and wagging tails, you end up falling in love with every single one of them. 🥹💚

And honestly? We wouldn't change it for the world!

Messages like these 🥹💚🐾

Every now and then we get messages from our clients that really reminds us why we love doing what we do.

For us, Sniff & Stride has never just been about taking a dog out for an hour and bringing them home again.

We get to know them, learn their little quirks, build their trust and, in some cases, become a small part of a much bigger journey. 🥹

Watching Mara grow in confidence and seeing her world gradually open up has been so lovely to be a part of. And hearing that Sunny's group walks haven't just been something he enjoys, but have helped him become calmer and more confident around other dogs at home too… honestly, it means so much. 💚

Sometimes the progress might seem small from the outside, but when you know where that dog started, those little changes can actually be huge.

We're incredibly grateful to every single person who trusts us with their pets. They're your family, and we never take that responsibility for granted.

Getting messages like these and knowing we've made even a small difference makes everything we put into Sniff & Stride completely worth it. 🐾💚

And being able to be a little part of their journeys is something we'll always feel very lucky to do. 🥰

A few of our favourite moments from September 🐾💚

What a lovely month it's been! 🥰

September has brought us lots of adventures with our regular faces, some gorgeous new additions to the Sniff & Stride family, plenty of walks, visits, cuddles, sniffing and, of course, a fair bit of mischief along the way! 😂🐶🐱

We've watched confidence grow, made new four-legged friendships, welcomed some very little faces 🥹 and even had our very first Secure Field Friday! 🐶💨

One of my favourite things about looking back at these little moments is seeing just how different every pet we care for is. Some want to run and play, some could sniff for England 😂, some prefer a quieter adventure and some are happiest when we're sat giving them cuddles.

And that's exactly how we like it. 💚

Thank you, as always, to everyone who trusts us with their furry family members. We really do love getting to know every single one of them.

Here's to plenty more adventures in October! 🍂🐾💚

Ever wondered why you don't really see cats panting like dogs do? 🐱👀

Dogs regularly pant to help cool themselves down, but our feline friends do things a little differently!

Cats have sweat glands in the hairless areas of their body, particularly their paw pads 🐾 — so on a hot day you might even spot some tiny sweaty paw prints!

They also help keep themselves cool by grooming. When they lick their fur, the saliva left behind can evaporate and help cool them down. They'll also naturally seek out cooler, shady spots and become less active when they're feeling warm. 🐱💚

So what if you DO see your cat panting?

Unlike dogs, panting or open-mouth breathing isn't something we'd expect to regularly see in cats. It can happen when they're extremely stressed or overheated, but it can also be a sign that they're struggling to breathe.

If your cat is panting or breathing with their mouth open, particularly if it doesn't quickly settle or they seem distressed, contact your vet for advice. 🩺🐾

Just another little reminder that cats and dogs aren't simply smaller versions of each other — they have very different ways of telling us how they're feeling! 💚

I think we're going to miss this little face when her visits come to an end 🥹🐱💚

Margot is still only a little one, so we've been popping in to keep her company while her owner is out — although I'm pretty sure she thinks we're actually there just to play with her feather toy! 😂🪶

She's only having her visits while she's young, so in the next few weeks she won't need us popping in anymore.

It's one of those lovely but slightly sad parts of what we do. 🥹 We get to know their little personalities, their favourite things and their routines… and then suddenly they don't need us quite as much anymore! 💚

We've still got a few more weeks of Margot cuddles and feather-toy chaos to enjoy though, and we'll definitely be making the most of them. 😂🐱🐾

And just like that… it's Friday again! 🐾💚

We've had another lovely week at Sniff & Stride, full of walks, familiar faces, plenty of sniffing, exploring and lots of happy pooches along the way. 🥰

But today was a little bit extra special because we had our very first Secure Field Friday! 🐶💨🎉

We started with our first two dogs and they had the best time having the freedom to run around, sniff absolutely everything 😂, explore, play and just enjoy themselves without having to worry about recall.

After talking about Secure Field Fridays and seeing such a lovely response to the idea, it was so nice to finally get our first one underway! 💚

And this is exactly why I wanted to start them — giving dogs who can't normally enjoy that off-lead freedom somewhere safe to have a good run around and just be dogs. 🐾

It's been such a lovely week, but we're not quite clocking off yet… 😂 We've still got a walk and a visit to look forward to this weekend!

Things you don't see on a Sniff & Stride walk 👀🐾

A good walk isn't always about how far we go 💚

It can be really easy to think a good dog walk means covering as many miles as possible… but that's definitely not how we look at it! 😂

Sometimes our walks involve plenty of walking, but sometimes they involve stopping to sniff the same patch of grass for what feels like forever 👃😂, having a little explore, watching the world go by or simply taking things at a slower pace.

And that's okay! 🐶💚

Sniffing and exploring are a huge part of a dog's walk, and every dog is different. Some want to get going and explore everything, while others are perfectly happy taking their time and having a really good nosey along the way.

We don't rush them just so we can say we've walked a certain distance.

Of course we want our dogs to get exercise, but we also want them to actually enjoy their time with us. 🥰

Sometimes the best walks aren't the ones where we've gone the furthest…

They're the ones where the dog has had the best time. 🐾💚

🐾 S6 dog owners… fancy something a little different for your pooch on a Friday? 👀🐶

We're looking to start Secure Field Fridays at Sniff & Stride and I honestly think the dogs are going to LOVE this one! 😂💚

The idea is simple… we'll take a little group of up to 4 dogs to a secure field, where they can have a proper run around, sniff absolutely everything, make some doggy friends and basically just have a brilliant time! 🐶💨

It's perfect for dogs who love being social but can't usually be let off lead because their recall isn't quite there yet.

And don't worry, we won't just chuck 4 random dogs in a field together and hope for the best 😂🙈 Dogs will be carefully matched based on their personality and play style so we can make sure everyone is happy and having fun.

Expect lots of zoomies, chasing, sniffing, playing and probably some very tired pooches afterwards! 😂🐾

We're based in Sheffield S6 and I'm currently seeing who might be interested before we get our first Friday group together.
