Sheath cleaning isn't the most glamorous job, but it's an important part of your geldings routine healthcare and is often forgotten.
A build-up of dirt, grease and debris can cause discomfort, irritation, swelling and, in some cases, problems when urinating. Regular cleaning helps keep your horse comfortable and healthy.
I always take a calm, patient and gentle approach, working at your horse's pace to make the experience as stress-free as possible. Every horse is different, and their comfort and welfare will always come first.
As a general guide, most geldings benefit from having their sheath cleaned at least once a year, although some horses may need it more frequently depending on the individual.
