A huge thank you to everyone who helped with shearing day this week✂️🦙 The alpacas and sheep are now much cooler and more comfortable heading into summer, and another impressive mountain of fleece has been collected. Special thanks to our shearer Bob Shaw and team for another calm and efficient day, and to all the volunteers who helped everything run smoothly behind the scenes. Happy Birthday Banksy! Wednesday 3rd June is not only shearing day, its the day Banksy turns One. I hope he enjoys getting back to his birthday suit.
We went to Sandhills to see Picasso and Graffiti but that little chocolate nose caught our eye and we couldn't resist. Banksy reminds me of Gordon. He's calm and not afraid of his own company. A lovely young fellow.

The boys aren't the only ones looking forward to shearing day tomorrow. The sheep have spent the last few weeks carrying around thick winter fleeces through some surprisingly warm weather, and they're more than ready for a haircut.

The whole herd is feeling pretty hot and fed up - we've never seen them lie down so much! Tomorrow can't come soon enough for these overdressed girls and boys. Don't worry though, a cooler, lighter summer wardrobe is just around the corner. ✂️🐑🦙

Happy Birthday Graffiti. Our eldest youngster is 1 year old. Born at Sandhills on 31st May 2025, he moved to Holly Hagg in November and began his training and socialising with humans and dogs. Now he and his mates are fully qualified regular members of the trekking team. We love him to bits
