We don’t sell puppies. We deliver trained dogs ready for real life. During their stay with us we crate train and house train the puppies.

Here at Puppy Steps we understand the importance of having an obedient, well mannered and happy dog. We also know how difficult it can be to achieve these goals with the time constraints of daily life. Family, work and even lack of know how are some of the biggest reasons that puppies and their new owners aren't as happy or relaxed as they could be. That is why at Puppy Steps we use our expertise and knowledge to free up your time and make owning a puppy as stress free as possible. We offer a range of services from one to one puppy training sessions, right through to finding and training a puppy ready for their new family. All of our puppies live in the family home with our 3 dogs and 2 children learning valuable socialisation skills at this key time in their development. We also teach manners and basic obedience of sit, down, recall and lead walking. The end result being a well balanced and happy dog that can be enjoyed by you from the very beginning.

🐾❤️ The best part of our job? The unlimited puppy cuddles, of course! ❤️🐾

We absolutely love what we do, but getting to cuddle gorgeous puppies, like little Betsy here, has to be one of the biggest perks! 🐶 Just look at that little face! 😍

Lots of learning, plenty of playtime and endless puppy cuddles… we really do have the best job! 🐾❤️

Peju the miniature poodle has just started her 4 weeks training with Puppy Steps. She’s settled in really well, loves to chase her own tail and have cuddles 🥰

Meet Rosie 🤍🐾

This gorgeous little Westie is Rosie, one of our latest puppies to join us for training at our Chorley branch.

She's settling into her new surroundings and getting started with all those important early foundations — from toilet and crate training to good manners, routines and plenty of positive new experiences along the way.

We might be slightly biased, but those ears are pretty hard to resist. 😂🤍

We'll keep you updated with Rosie's progress over the next few weeks.

The school run looks a little different with Betsy 🐶❤️

Socialisation doesn't have to wait until a puppy has finished their vaccinations.
Betsy came along on the school run with us today — safely carried, but still able to experience the sights, sounds, people, traffic and general hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Those early weeks are such an important time for puppies. We want them experiencing the world before they're able to explore it on four paws, so when the time comes for their first proper walks, everything isn't completely new.

It's not about overwhelming them or trying to expose them to everything at once. It's about lots of small, positive experiences that gradually build confidence.

For Betsy, today's training just happened to involve the school run and plenty of cuddles. 🥰🐾

Good morning from Mabel 🧡🐾
Mabel is a gorgeous 10-week-old F1 Miniature Cavapoo and one of our September trainees. She's been with us for a week now and has settled in brilliantly.

She's already letting us know when she needs to go outside, sitting nicely for her food and getting to grips with her new routine.

She does, however, still think I need waking up in the middle of the night to accompany her outside… 😂🌙

It's only been a week though, and she's making fantastic progress already.

Just look at that little face. 🥹❤️

Well… Betsy’s discovered the paddling pool 😂💦

She’s only 10 weeks old and has been with us for almost a week, but there’s certainly no shortage of confidence!

At this age, so much of what we do is simply giving puppies the opportunity to experience new things, explore and build confidence in the world around them.

Although judging by this, Betsy didn't exactly need much encouragement… 😂🐾❤️

Meet Betsy 🧡🐾

Betsy is a gorgeous 10-week-old F1b Cavapoo who joined us almost a week ago for her Puppy Steps training.

She’s had a busy first few days settling into our home, getting used to her new routine and starting to learn all those important foundations that will help prepare her for life with her new family.

And yes… she really is as fluffy as she looks. 😂❤️

We’ll share more of Betsy’s progress over the next few weeks as her training continues.

Meet Gus 🐾❤️

This gorgeous little face belongs to Gus, a 9-week-old F1 Cavapoo and one of our September trainees.

He’s only just arrived, so right now it’s all about settling in, building confidence and getting used to life with us.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be working on all those important foundations — toilet and crate training, learning to settle calmly, basic commands, lead work, socialisation and plenty of everyday experiences — before he heads home to his family.

And judging by that face, we think Gus might get away with quite a lot if we're not careful... 😂

And just like that… we’re back! 🐾

After taking August off to enjoy some much-needed family time, we couldn’t have asked for a better little face to welcome us back to Puppy Steps. ❤️

September also marks something pretty special for us — we’re beginning our 10th year of training puppies.

It’s quite hard to believe that what started almost a decade ago has grown into Puppy Steps as it is today. Hundreds of puppies, families from across the UK and overseas, countless early mornings, sleepless nights, muddy paws… and an awful lot of memories along the way.

And after a month away from it, we’re reminded just how lucky we are that this is our job.

So here’s to year 10 — and to plenty more little faces like this one coming through our doors. 🐶❤️
