Barney’s first session today and he absolutely smashed it

This stage is all about resetting communication. Not relying on verbal cues or hoping food does the work, but giving him clear structure, guidance, and physical clarity so he actually understands what’s being asked of him.

We worked on:

• True luring, staying with the hand, not drifting or disengaging
• Gentle lead pressure to shape behaviours, not correct them
• Clear positive markers so he knows exactly when he’s doing the right thing
• Holding position with patience, even when the reward is delayed
• Distance + duration to build reliability, not excitement
• Environmental neutrality, he can glance, but not fixate

The goal right now isn’t perfection. It’s clarity.
The more consistent the communication, the faster the progress.
