The health and well-being of our staff and customers is paramount; with this in mind we would like to take this opportunity to outline the steps we are taking in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our shops remain open, this will be reviewed on a daily basis

Within our shops we are taking the following measures:

- Regularly disinfecting all high touch areas including handrails, door handles, till points, product displays, store equipment, etc.

- Making hand sanitiser available for staff, volunteers and customers.

- Increasing weekly deep cleans of our stores.

- Ensuring all employees have the information they need to stay healthy and continuously keep a high level of hygiene. Government advice on self-isolation and care will be followed for any member of staff or volunteer feeling unwell.

We will not be offering stock collections for the foreseeable future, we will update the relevant channels once these have recommenced.

Our welfare animal food bins continue to be stocked for those in the community in need. We endeavour to keep these running for as long as possible.

If you’re feeling under the weather or have recently returned from an affected area and were planning to visit one of our shops we politely request, for the safety of everyone, that you refrain.

For the latest advice on what to do if you are feeling unwell, or if you believe you have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19 please visit: ‪https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response‬

We will continue to follow Government advice and will post updates on any further actions we are taking.

Please support us and other small businesses in your local area during this time. As a charity we are doing everything we can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit, and we're really going to need Sheffield's help over the coming few months.

Our animal centre doesn't close down and take it's work home, so we need to keep your donations coming in to resell and keep vital funding coming in for the sake of all our animals.

You can shop online too, find us here and on Facebook Marketplace:

Opening hours may be affected at our Darnall Superstore, due to volunteer shortages. We work alongside and support vulnerable people in our community, so have to put their needs first.

Ring ahead on 01143 278679 before travelling, or PM us on here for updates.

Your support to us is vital at this time. So many animals are depending on the support they get from our 4 shops across Sheffield. Please support us any way you can and help us to keep raising vital funds

Our Story

The RSPCA Sheffield Branch is a separately registered charity to the National RSPCA which is based in Horsham, Sussex. Although we receive some support from the National RSPCA, we have to generate all our own running costs ourselves, through local fundraising in the Sheffield area. We do not receive any funding from the government or local authority. The Sheffield branch of the RSPCA is run by volunteer trustees and costs over £2,000 per day to run. This money has to be raised in the Sheffield area only, by staff and volunteers through fundraising, donations, legacies and our charity shops. We rehome over 1,000 animals per year from our centre, all of which have come to us further to rescue from cruelty or neglect, or that their owners are no longer able to care for them. Our job is to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome these animals and to raise the funds to do so. The RSPCA Sheffield Branch is made up of: - The Sheffield Animal Centre, based in Attercliffe, rehomes unwanted, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. We neuter, vaccinate and microchip every dog and cat which comes to the Centre. We also run events at the Animal Centre. - A Welfare Veterinary Clinic which offers reduced-rate neutering, vaccinations, flea/worm treatments and microchipping to people who are on low incomes and in receipt of certain benefits. - Our Charity Shops, situated around Sheffield are a vital source of regular income for the centre. We have shops based in Woodseats, Chapeltown, Darnall and Broomhill which sell second-hand clothes, jewellery, home decor and furniture. We’ve got something for everyone! To donate items to us, please take them directly to one of our charity shops. The locations for each can be found here: https://rspcasheffield.org/cgi-bin/browsearea.py?areaid=16 We never put an animal to sleep unless advised to do so by a vet, to prevent further suffering or for severe aggression to people.
