Heat Wave Alert! ☀️🔔
Summer has arrived, and so has the risk of heatstroke. Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency that develops rapidly.
Protect your furry family members with these essential safety steps:
🚫 Avoid Day Time Walks: Do not exercise pets in the midday heat. Hot pavement can also severely burn paw pads.
✅ Cool Walkies: Walk them in the early morning or late evening once temperatures drop.
❌ Never Leave Pets in Cars: Temperatures inside a parked car can become fatal in minutes.
✅ Stay Hydrated & Shaded: Provide constant access to shade and fresh, cool water.
✅ Keep Them Entertained: Use frozen lick mats, ice treats, and fans to keep them cool indoors.
🚨 Signs of Heatstroke to Watch For:
* Heavy panting or breathing in distress
* Sticky, dry gums
* Lethargy, wobbling, or collapsing
* Confusion or seizures
