I’m fortunate enough to care for and work with these incredible dogs. Over the years I’ve seen and been around a vast amount of dogs of many different breeds and although I love them all, I do have my favourites.
When it comes to choosing the dog for yourself, you must remember not to just choose a dog on looks alone and what you think is cute and looks good. You must think about will this dog fit into my current lifestyle.
Do your research, what are the breeds traits and characteristics, would that fit your personality and activities?
Look in to the health issues of the breed.
Look at the costs that might come with owning the breed.
How much exercise does the breed need?
What’s the trainability of the breed?
The size of the breed, do you have enough space for a large breed?
Do you have enough time for a dog?
Think about your own experience, have you ever owned a dog before? Do you have experience with breeds that can be considered more challenging to own?
There’s so much to consider when it comes to getting a dog! Breed does matter!
How much effort are you willing to put into owning a dog?
Do your research, think about your own personality and current lifestyle and do your best to match that with a dog that you can fit into your life. Ask for guidance from professionals, take your time and really think about it. Because a dog is only apart of our life but we are a dog’s whole life.
I can not wait to get my own personal dog again, when I have more time and space for one, I will certainly be getting my own dog again.
There are many dogs that I could get but the breeds shown in the photos are the ones that really stand out for me, that would match my abilities to train, look after and fulfill their needs and that would fit into the active lifestyle that I have. I have been around these breeds of dogs a lot and it’s safe to say I know what to expect when I eventually end up getting one or more of these incredible dogs.
