This handsome fella is Stan and he's been a loyal customer since he was just a pup 😍

His mum and dad had a few concerns surrounding his feeding as Stan was putting himself on voluntary fasts which can be quite normal in certain circumstances but worrying for owners. We adjusted his calorie intake and I just thought I would use Stan as an example to say:

Make sure the input matches the output - if exercise reduces due to illness/ work ect then lower the food intake too 🙌

Back to a happy Stan, happy owners and therefore a happy Beth 😍✅

A good bit of information for you guys who have started your training journey 🙌

Sleep is a HUGE part of training... 😴

Sleep is something we often overlook as owners and many have gotten into the habit of excessively overfilling their dogs day leaving very little room for that all important nap!

I am often contacted by owners who are struggling with their pup and more often than not it's because the dog has been taught how to get excited but not how to calm down. For example an overtired puppy can look hyperactive, bitey or “naughty” when it actually needs a nap.

How much sleep do dogs actually need 👇

✅ Puppies: Need 18 to 20 hours of sleep daily to support rapid physical growth, brain development, and learning.

✅ Adult Dogs: Need 12 to 14 hours split between nighttime sleep and daytime naps.

✅ Senior Dogs: Need 14 to 18 hours of rest as their bodies age and tire more easily.

Sleep hugely impacts a dogs overall behaviour including their learning capacity, memory, immune system, physical ability and impulse control and these are just a few reasons why I fully support ethical crate training or having a set place/bed so we as owners can help them switch off and unwind.

And lastly this is what a good routine looks like:

Train → play/explore → toilet → calm down → sleep → repeat.

✨ Is your dog's weight ok?✨

As a nation we show love through food and this has made us have a warped concept of what a dog's healthy weight is now, many people thinking that the ideal weight for their dog's breed looks too thin. But this is not the case.

Obesity in dogs is rising rapidly, it not only lowers your dog's life expectancy but also puts strain on your dogs vital organs and joints causing unnecessary stress and health complications.

This is a great little hack that can help you better judge their weight! Or obviously bring them into the shop to be weighed and I will help you monitor their weight too not a problem ☺️
