Over the past 20 years I have always thought of my job as more of a hobby as it’s something I love doing and sometimes been quite easy on people coming back early, cancellations, payments, no shows, matted dogs etc. We will now have some strict policy’s in place for the safety of dogs in our care. 💙🐾🩷
For example a few weeks ago someone decided to pop back after only 30 mins of dropping off their dog thinking it would be ready!
(Not a new customer so should know the routine we use)
A groom can take 2-3hrs. In 30 mins we had only just had time to bath and blow dry their dog.
On explaining to the owner she was not ready resulted in the lady being impatient standing at the counter going in and out the shop making the bell ring the poor dog thinking she was being collected and other dogs thinking they was going home. She then stood at the counter talking for the duration of me trying to groom her dog putting the dog under pressure and me !
This put us behind for the rest of the day 😏
No dog can be rushed we are using very sharp tools. ✂️
🚗Parking - we are lucky to have this facility only for dropping off and collecting dogs once telephoned.
Please don’t use this as a carpark and go off the premises and do your shopping unless going to Woods Trade Supplies, it is a busy car park.
💷Payments must be made in full on return of your dog. If you do not have the correct money for what ever reason a payment link will be sent to your mobile for the payment to be made asap.
Prices are non negotiable due to being in high demand and highly experienced.
🐾✂️ Matting of dogs coats - Due to the animal welfare act we will not put dogs through any pain to try brush your matts out as a result of not brushing your dog at home or just brushing over the top and not getting down to the skin with you comb. We can not unravel 6-8 weeks of non brushing especially on doodle type breeds. 🪄
If you are taking dogs on the beach or through woods and fields consider how your dogs groom should be and if he/ she don’t like being brushed this should be a shorter manageable style.
Poodle and bichon x breeds need lots of daily brushing and combing with the correct tools to stop becoming matted, especially around friction areas, around neck if collars used, harnesses, under arms and over tails and ears.
If your struggling to manage your dogs coat consider booking in for a mid groom bath and brush out and we can help you with the right brushes, combs & tools.
No shows and cancellations.⛔️
Cancellations you need to give me at least 24hrs notice, no shows or late cancellation will result in a payment link sent to your phone so you can pay for your missed appointment before given a new one as we have a long list of people waiting for grooms by not cancelling in advance we can not offer the booking to some one who needs it.
Frequent cancellations or no shows will result in us not rebooking you any future appointments.
🦗Fleas - from time to time dogs get fleas.
If your dog has a high amount of fleas you will need to take your dog home and put a veterinary strength treatment on before rebooking.
If found with a couple of live fleas during the bathing process a flea shampoo will be used at extra cost to follow up with your own treatment at home.
💩Toileting - Please ensure your dog has toileted before bringing into our shop and travelling in our van so they feel comfortable whilst being groomed.
😷 If your dog has an upset tummy, diarrhoea sickness, kennel cough or anything else we should be aware of please call us in advance .
🐶Post groom - Sometimes after dogs are finished the grooming process the first thing they usually do is shake there hair back into place sometimes results in a stray hair out of place or something that doesn’t look quite right, if your not happy with your dogs groom please call me within 48hrs. ( I won’t be offended these things happen and we can sort it)
☎️Contacting me - please contact me by telephone, email or Facebook messenger, or text my mobile, do not text the landline number as it comes through as a phone call with some one talking the message out, if we don’t get to the phone in time we will not receive the message.
Collecting dogs - A full groom will take around 2+ hrs we telephone everyone to confirm when ready to collect. If you return early this may result in your dog going home unfinished due to becoming unsettled/excited thinking they are going.
