Client Review time

"Thank you for saving Gruff's life!
Thank you Bristol Vets Specialists. Having seen two different vet practices prior, Vets Eoin and Iggy diagnosed him accurately within 5 minutes of meeting him and ended up saving his life just in time. Grateful to be able to take him home today and give him the best rest of his life we can!"

"Behind the Scenes at BVS

Ever wondered how radiation treatment is delivered or how a linear accelerator (linac) works? Join Ben, one of our therapeutic radiographers, on a tour of the bunker at BVS as he discusses the science behind the linac. Ben is one of two therapeutic radiographers at BVS, both have transferred from human medicine to deliver radiotherapy to our veterinary patients and have extensive experience in the delivery of different radiotherapy protocols."

We are kicking off Oncology month here at BVS with a great update….
Bambi is back!

We shared a day in the life of Bambi during her radiotherapy journey back in March when she was receiving treatment for a brain tumour. Today she returned for a repeat MRI scan. We are very pleased to report that the mass has shrunk significantly as outlined in the images below (brain outlined in green and orange arrows indicate the mass) and she is feeling bright and well. Her family are delighted with her progress and she is back to her cheeky self. Bambi celebrated her 14th birthday recently and proves that age is just a number and not a reason not to treat if circumstances are otherwise appropriate. “

The magical impact of becoming a canine blood donor - 700 miles of saving lives

We often share how passionate we are here about being a site for the donation sessions.

Being a busy referral practice we know first hand how important it is to have access to blood for our patients that need it. This 'liquid gold' is unmatched in its like for like replacement ability in some of our most vulnerable patients often giving them the best chances of recovery.

We reached out to the team to see how far the blood donated at our session travelled to those who needed it, 700 miles across 4 centres in their time of need.

Becoming a blood donor really is an incredible thing to be able to do and the blood may travel across the country saving lives. To read more please visit https://tinyurl.com/37xj3rfj to see if your dog could be a suitable life saver!
